Hello,

Yesterday driving to a hike to Pacifica, CA I saw a red FE Mach E. I was totally impressed how nice it looked and got super excited about my reservation for a Premium ER RWD.

I have been thinking a lot about keeping my order or going for the MY.

I finally hopped on a MME and test drove it for the first time. But they only had a Standard AWD for test driving. I floored the car and I was not very impressed with the acceleration.
Can someone compare the the acceleration of a MY and the MME AWD?

I have test driven the model 3. I know it’s not an Apple to Apple comparison since that is a sedan and also the MME is 500 heavier than the MY. I remmeber the feeling of the model 3 pinning me to the seat when I accelerated. I understand that it is not like that with the MY.

I will test drive the MY but I wanted to know a comparison in the meantime.

The First Edition/ERAWD acceleration is going to be semi-directly comparable with the dual motor long range MY, not the performance (you can see the numbers, it's about a .6sec difference 0-60). Unless you wait for the MMEGT, which should theoretically be a direct comparison with the performance MY.
All of that on-paper stuff aside, I personally much prefer the Mustang's driving feel. YMMV :)

Yes, the Tesla has slightly better acceleration. 0-30 mph is really close between the two vehicles...the Tesla seems to pull away with better acceleration between 30-60 mph, though. If a shorter 0-60 time is really important, Tesla is a good option (although the MME GT should be equivalent to the higher performing Tesla Models 3 and Y).

It's honestly a tradeoff between acceleration and build quality. The Tesla is a bit quicker, but the MME just feels more solid (fewer rattles and unwanted structural noises), based on my test drives of both the MME and MY. The acceleration of both vehicles is good enough for me, so I went with the vehicle that feels better on the road. For those who really crave the higher acceleration, I can understand why they would lean towards Tesla.

That looks like tuning to me. Like Tesla is allowing the acceleration ramp to stay steeper longer. This was still cool to see, but it makes me wonder how much of that difference can be tuned out.

and, to be clear, I’m not so worried about acceleration performance on my FE 4x. I didn’t buy it for extreme performance. if that’s what I wanted, I’d have waited for the GT
