Adding a profile photo??

Has anyone else encountered this? I want my Memoji (iOS) to be my profile photo in my MME. I get this error:

My main contact photo is the photo I want, I also have one to match my profile. Anyone been able to successfully change their profile photo?

I tried like crazy to push the profile along with its avatar from the remote setup in FordPass to get my profile photo, but never got it to work. I'm just using one of the canned photos for now.

What does it mean that picture has to be in contacts? Is this referring to contacts in your smartphone? Are there contacts that are entered in the car without a smartphone? I have an iPhone and I've put pictures with the contacts I use the most. When you upload a picture do you do it on an iPhone, iPad or Mac (or equivalent android sys) and use a contact picture on them? My car hasn't been produced yet so I haven't tried this but want to know what to do when the time comes. I wanted to put my picture with my profile and my wife's picture with her profile and not the canned pictures in the program.

My phone today had the button to send profile to vehicle!! Yesterday my I got my fordpass Rewards points for new vehicle purchase. And then today that button showed up in the app. I think It won't show up until your dealer has completely registered your car to you with Ford. Today the car shows up in my ford credit account as well. I took delivery on 2/12 and got the fordpass points on 2/17 and was able to send the profile on 2/18. It sent my photo I set on the app and everything.

I figured out how to set a profile picture from an iPhone. When I send my profile to the car, nothing happens. So I found a workaround.

The key is that you have to turn off CarPlay and connect to regular Bluetooth. After that, whatever profile pic you have set on your iPhone, will be selectable on the Mach-E profile picture settings.

Then you can re-enable CarPlay after the picture is set.

It’s super annoying, but it works.

I figured out how to set a profile picture from an iPhone. When I send my profile to the car, nothing happens. So I found a workaround.

I was frustrated trying to understand the message, but she saw it and said “your iPhone contact for yourself...” I knew immediately what to do. Disable carplay and let Bluetooth connect. Then choosing a photo automatically chose whatever photo was assigned to MY contact on my phone. Changing my photo on my phone changed the photo the Mach E displayed each subsequent time. Works perfectly.

I no longer have the option to Send to Car in the FordPass app. I've been thinking about trying to delete and re-add the car, but I've been hesitant about going down that rabbit hole just for a photo.

this works perfectly. when it says set up as your contact photo it doesn't mean that you have to add yourself to your contacts. You need to add your photo to your "contact card", is what it is called in iOS. I have a samsung though. When you go in to your contacts app there is a picture at the top (or I had an empty question mark circle). Hitting that opens your profile where you can set your contact card picture. Once that is set up go in to the phones section of the car settings, go to your phone and resend contacts. Now you can go in to your profile in the car and the picture will be available.

Thanks for posting this. I use my middle name (never knew my first name until I was about 7 years old - my parents gave me my father's first name as my first name but never called me by that name but used my middle name instead. It has been confusing over the years (in school, forms, etc). So I actually had 3 entries (not sure why 3) in my contacts for me. I eliminated the 2 that had my middle name in the first name spot and used the one that had my real name (which already had a picture associated with it) - went to the car and changed the name in my profile from middle to first name and then the picture just showed up. Selected it and all is good now.

Worked for my wife. I can't get it to work for me. Odd.

I have spent a lot of time on this. My wife is the primary and I
I cannot losd her photo. Mine when in just as easy as pie. I have a photo in the Contacts app and her contact. I thought I might have as issue with photo size so I set the Contacts to one of the phone icons her contact to another. I connect the phone and lookup here contact and there is her photo and not the icon I set. I think a reset is needed but like others a whole car reset is too extreme.
