I recently was away for the weekend. On my way back home, Apple Maps was trying to make me stop for charging even though it said that i would only have 23% charge left upon my arrival and I have a Ford Level 2 charger at home. Apple Maps does not seem to recognize or take into account my home charger.

is there a way of adding my home charger to Apple Maps? If there is, can some one here please provide the instructions.

Thanks

Every app there is doesn't recognize a home charger. Simply ignore the recommendation, and when you're close enough to home, simply stop navigating...

No there isn't a way to add your home charger to Apple Maps but I have not seen that issue driving back and forth from my home to the Bay Area or any distance for that matter. Apple Maps usually gives me three route choices. Two with stops for charging and one without even if I will have less than 10% charge left when I arrive to my destination.

I would do what Rick recommends. Navigate home then turn it off since you know you will be home with plenty of charge left.

A couple of screen shots with routes less than 10% charge left after reaching my destinations.

If there is some reason you need to use Maps to get home (say you're coming from an unfamiliar area or there is bad traffic that you want to be routed around), you can also tell Maps that you're driving a different car. I think this will work, though I'll admit I've not tried it...

Yes that works John. Didn’t think of it and I’ve done that before when I’m actually in a different car. 😊

Yeah, I know it works for sure in a different car. Just not certain it works when one is in their Mach E registered in Apple Maps. Maps might try to be too "helpful" 🤣

No, you can turn it off just the same in the Mach-E and it won't bother you about charging.

You won't have that problem if you have public chargers near your house. If you can get home and then drive to the charger it doesn't think there is a problem. Same with the Ford Nav -- except of course if the charger is a Tesla.
