I'm looking at trading my '21 for a new '23. $3k off 0% + leave all the recalls & CSP's behind, but the dealer is adding the usual crap that nobody wants.

Even though I am refusing to pay for it, I am concerned about the KARR security system. If you look it up, these are worthless and can cause issues. Even if I have them disable this thing, it would remain installed. The question would be if it could cause a phantom load on the 12v battery if it's not active? Any experience with this?

I am struggling to understand why a dealer would do this to a vehicle that is so dependent on a healthy 12v system.

I don't think they are willing to totally uninstall the system.

Should I just walk away?

Absolutely walk away. I would not accept that garbage on my car, especially since it is extremely likely to cause an issue (likely not covered under warranty).

They do it for 2 reasons.

1) Car being stolen before purchase.

2) Add-on profit.
