Got in the car to a pleasant surprise yesterday.

I do wish media was closer (on the left). I mean I'm going to fiddle with that tile, not weather, sigh. ???

And I still wish the Sync tiles were larger again with more at-a-glance data. Maybe next update.

Still I am very happy to have at-a-glance media info.

Yeah I wish I could dismiss the weather tile by sliding it away or something. They allow this in some of the split view Android Auto layouts but not in this particular one.

The weather tile is replaced with higher priority content sometimes, such as a new text message. I believe this is why they placed it closer to the driver.

There is no way to replace the weather tile w something else? That seems like a waste to me.

It is replaced by the current phone call or a recent, unheard text message, as appropriate.

Like I said, Google lets you replace it with the audio player (stretching the player bigger) or with a Google Maps predictive destination widget when in some of the other display size geometries. But for whatever reason in this layout and geometry they don't seem to allow that. Maybe it will come later.

Right. Customization options are pretty non existent. I suppose a lot will depend on how closely Google works with Ford and how much control Ford hands over.

Don't like it.

I liked the previous version you had a large music album wall paper. Thought they would move forward and unlock the the blurred album cover in the background that you are listening to so it covered that space (instead of the small tile like foreground). The PC version you can do that.

Now it only expands half screen. And the album cover is still a small tile.

I am also experiencing signal Interference (audible) going from Android Auto to the the Home screen or Drive Mode screen right after you press the button.

After another day of use, I'm noticing (touch) lag and partial loading. And are they kidding with artist search? No ability to jump to the first letter in the name, seriously!?

I guess I'll just have to initiate playback from my phone before driving.

I don't love the new layout. But luckily you can revert to the old full screen map by tapping the Google maps shortcut - it will hide the weather and audio tiles.

Ideally I would expand the audio tile to take up the whole width of the screen, and I would shrink the height of that new elongated tile.

My weather box shows nothing. I guess it can't handle the cold temps in Canada.

For me the default view keeps coming up split screen between map (good) and contacts (bad). Any time I click the AA tile it reverts back to that too. Super annoying. Fortunately the AA nav icon on the top header doesn't do that. It just returns you to the AA screen like you left it (as should always happen). And it's easier to hit, so I use that.

I don't have any use for the AA split screen 99% of the time since I'm nearly always using SXM. Which they seriously screwed up by no longer putting the Artist Name on the tile anymore. Only Song Title. Incomprehensible how they could screw up something so obvious. We know there's 2 lines available on those tiles.

Can anyone explain how I can get rid of the map on the top and just show one app on the whole screen? I can't get it out of the mode as shown in the first picture of this thread. TIA

Not sure if it works for all sections, but for me I like nothing but map. Tapping the map icon at the bottom of the AA screen (above Tire Pressure in that first pic) expands the map to full AA screen. Try that and see if it works for whatever other function you want to fill the AA screen.

If that doesn't get what you want, try tapping the 9 dots (3x3). That switches to a another icon that seems to be a layout button. See if that does anything or has any options (maybe hit it multiple times?).

So can you expand the Spotify one to show like the map is in the picture? All I can get is each one split on top of each other...
