Android Widget for Mach-E [Less Complex]

Another update:

Most of the app is working now with the new API, but around Oct 27th I found I was no longer able to get authentication info from Ford. I reached out to my contact about it but no response. I also discovered that in Postman I can refresh a token, but none of the actual API endpoints work with that token. It appears Ford has shut down the FordConnect API for now.

I'm work on other aspects of the app right now mainly as an exercise in learning more about Android development.

Uploaded version 2025.01.27-10 to GitHub and Play Store. The only thing in this release is an update on the app's status, basically saying it's not dead yet.

You still can't log in. I haven't found a workaround to authenticate with the FordPass API and I'm still waiting for Ford to provide a way to authenticate to the FordConnect API.

my token on the non-beta version expired over the weekend for some reason so my luck finally ran out. ford not providing guidance/documentation on auth seems to be their way of shutting out independent devs. :-(

My widget is still working as of today. I turned off automatic refresh, and now just refresh it manually when I want to check it. I like that. I really don't need it refreshing when I am not looking at the widget anyway.

I do the same thing. Mine is still working and it is the easiest place to get 12V status

Aaargh! Spoke to soon. The widget updated today and now it stopped working.

@kennelh - can I revert back to the prior version or is that futile?

If that doesn't help I'll keep hoping/waiting for this great app to start working again! Thanks for all your efforts!

I don't think Android will allow you to load an older version over a newer one directly. You can try saving your settings, then delete the app and sideload the old version (you can find the APKs here) and then restore. The worst case you'll just be where you are now.

Mine is still working. Got the latest update last night. Samsung s24 if that makes a difference.
