Always Be Charging...I would think should be all you need to keep the LV battery up. It has been my standard operating procedure since Feb 23.......anecdotal I know.

Keep the App and the keys out of range when you are home. This small thing has really kept my car much more quiet (no more relays clicking) when Im in the garage....and now the car greets me when I go to the garage with key in hand.
The thing about this is, I'm retired so I only drive maybe 7 or 8k a year. Consequently I only charged a couple times a week. The biggest thing it seems like for 12v is to drive it frequently for some distance.

Hey, we both have 23 GTPE carbonized grey with nite pony....and I am retiring at the end of the year. My mileage will soon drop from 12K/yr to your level.

I could go several days without charging, but I do consider the LVB sagging into a mysterious gray zone. Maybe there is such a zone...maybe not. I have a small hard wired Clipper Creek on an old 30A circuit that has suited my mileage and ABC's real well.

If you have a '23 or '24 model and you want to avoid getting locked out schedule a visit with your dealer to get the latest GWM (gateway) update applied (takes 25 mins) and you should then be fine.

Lockouts were caused by a gateway OTA. Nothing to do with your 12V battery. The fix is out and available in FDRS for a tech to apply.

We are all waiting for this newer GWM update to show up as an OTA, but it hasn't so far. Maybe this weekend?

Are we sure that the GWM update is to prevent the lockout? Even if Ford puts out a TSB associating that update with the lockout issue, I'd be hesitant to trust that Ford actually found the root cause, was able to repeat the issue reliable, and actually tested/confirmed this as a fix.

I've been given to understand that the gateway update(s) fix the problem. I have no reason to doubt the source of this info.

I saw on Facebook someone got ECG-24.2.4.10. That would likely be the OTA for this? Here is the screenshot that they had posted

Can't tell unless I get the VIN to look up the OTA details.

Which one? -FAS or -FAT? :D
Exactly, that's what I've asked about this morning. There have been instances of back-to-back gateway updates, but they are rare.

So I did the latest gateway update (to -FAT) and the "-FAS" revision must have been some sort of mistake.

Cause now all the '23 models I check will be going from "-FAR" straight to "-FAT" and skipping "-FAS" completely.

All good...as long as the end result is the same.

So.. just to be clear, FAT is the successor to both FAR and FAS? But FAS came after FAR? So going from FAS to FAT would be.. FAST? And from FAR to FAT would be...

Yeah, module updates in the same branch will be incremented based on the order of the alphabet. So -FAT is the latest revision.

I hate when I have to explain my jokes. (Especially the immature "Dad Jokes.")

If FAS to FAT is FAST, than FAR to FAT would be... what?
