Don't really care what anyone else says. We are starting a journey to see how it works. Intially, the Select C&T to see how we like the platform. Followed in a month or two by the Premium with more options. If the wife likes driving it then we will eventually replace her explorer with either an electrified version of that or the Aviator Plug in Hybrid.

All this because she absolutely refuses to pump gas.

I do not see a future where I drive one full time though. Haul too many heavy trailers. Hearing nightmares about the lightning and towing.

I expected it in the T, but after one week of ownership I received my first single finger salute from a passenger in a chevy suv.

I didn't do nuthin, wasn't following close, wasn't agressive in any way. just putting along a 30mph street at 35 listening to a podcast.

as the chevy in front of me pulls away at the light, the passenger gives me the single finger salute.

at that point, i knew, i need to keep a bigger distance from buford. not sure why, maybe it was the "that's not a mustang" thing, dunno. maybe just EV hate i guess.

anyone else experience the love as such?
Always positive, and we live in big truck area!

I haven't had much, but have had a several interactions with big diesel trucks, typically plastered with stickers like "Let's go Brandon", "Can't feed 'em don't breed 'em", "Blue Lives Matter", "Cummins", "Duramax", etc., that have coal rolled me when they pull in front of me. Super cool people, I'm sure...

99% of my feedback is curious and positive though.

I do feel like there are certain individuals that exists that refuse to let me pass them on the highway though. Usually 50+ year old men. I'll be BlueCruising along, getting ready to pass , when all of a sudden they bump their speeds and won't let me pass. Not sure if it's an EV vs. ICE complex or mustang thing or whatever.

Interestingly enough, I"ve had the opposite! I attended a wedding in a very rural community where forestry, farming and trucking are the highest employment opportunities. The closest fast charger was over an hour away in either direction; even then, there were only 2. I spent so much time answering questions and showing off the car and its features. While it would not be very practical for that area due to several factors (weather, dirt roads), the acceptance by people who 99% drive gas or diesel trucks was amazing!

When I was taking delivery of my Ioniq 5--about 2 months after ordering my MME--a big bearded guy in a well-worn baseball cap walked by and said "you should get a Mach E. It will kill that car."

"How so?"

He kept walking, turned around and said "Get the Mach E."
Spoon fed information without facts or data to support dialogue. Such a shame that we cannot have civil conversations. Too much hate in this world. Can we agree to disagree, respect someone else's right to have a different opinion and still go have a drink with that person. If everyone thought alike, we would all be eating the same flavored ice cream....chocolate chip. My favorite. ;)

Actually it was civil. I thought it was very good-natured. And I really liked the puzzled look on my salesman's face.

I brought it up here because rather than EV hate, it was EV love revolving around the MME.

I've never received any negative comments. I've only positive comments.

Forgot who, but someone just recently said that their manhood doesn’t rely on whether they’re driving a gas car or an electric one, and I think that’s the approach a lot of these hating weirdos should take.

You live in Canada, eh. Different politics south of the border.

But then what would they base their manhood on? Bumper stickers have been done, giant flags are kind of a hassle, sports teams will take just about anyone as fans these days...

I hear it from Mustang coupe owners. But, I also hear shit about owning a Shelby Mustang by the other side. I have the market cornered on haters. They see me ridin'!
