I just got my third notice from FNBO (the bank behind the Ford Credit card) to change my PW. I've changed it twice already. I then have to change the PW in FordPass and more. It's a pain. Just wondering if anyone else is getting these annoying PW change messages. Here's the actual email:

Are you using an electric utility sponsored app or enrolled in a program that reduces at-home kwh costs while charging your car? Many of those excessively ping your car using your login information. The companies that make those apps do not have an agreement with Ford to do so in a less spammy manner. If so, you'll want to unenroll as it can get your account locked.

There are a couple of threads on that around here.

Thanks guys. My utility doesn't do that. I'll give Ford a call tomorrow.

I have been getting a similar email that that but just from Ford... not related to my Ford credit account. It locks me out of the Ford Pass App. And I don't have that situation with my utility company. I've just changed my password for the fourth time in two weeks. Very frustrating.

This is the fourth time this week I've been asked to change my Fordpass app PW due to "suspicious activity". I am the only one logging in. I changed it three times so far and sent a couple messages via chat on ford.com about it. They said they would get back to me.....

New info: I believe the Mileage Choice program in my state (Virginia), which monitors my monthly mileage, may be the third party that is causing the "suspicious activity" trigger. I talked with Fordpass Customer Service and they seem to agree. I asked if this third party app could be waived/approved for me, to prevent the pw change requirement. They said "no', but did annotate my recommendation...what ever that gets me.

I guess I'm glad I'm not the only one? Clearly a software issue...

I found out it is a third party access issue with Virginia's Mileage Choice program. Fordpass doesn't like any third party access. And yes it is probably a recent software update by Ford. I didn't have this problem for the past 5 months. So instead of using the Mach e's telematics to send mileage to the Mileage Choice program, I decided to order the Mileage Choice OBD instead. This will bypass access to Fordpass and still provide mileage via an alternate means.

Interesting!! Weird that it has been working just fine all this time and now suddenly it doesn't. I guess it the software update that you mentioned...

I contacted Recurrent, after speaking with Ford and they have discontinued, temporarily, connecting to FordPass to check our battery levels, etc. They are working with Ford to sort out the situation, but in the meantime are not pinging Ford. They'll let us know when it's worked out and we can safely connect to them again....or vice versa.

I understand, but they were also affected as the pinging from Recurrent (or another third party in other cases) locked us out of FordPass, which then made FNBO incapable of connecting to FP as well. Hence, the multiple missives from FNBO saying, "suspicious activity" might be occurring. Sorry for the confusion.
