I have a 22 which doesn’t have half as many issues as the 21s. I have nothing against getting another MME.

will you go for a newer mach e with the latest software and slightly better efficiency
I would rather keep the old one. I don't care about efficiency, and the latest software is often worse than the old software.

I've got a '21 Job 1 First Edition. I'm done with Ford. The broken promises about BlueCruise updates, the months the car had been in shop over the past 3 ½ years, the bad software (and now terrible FordPass 5.0) demonstrates how badly Ford has stumbled out of the gate.

I'm traveling through China for the post couple of weeks and in most cities the majority of vehicles are BEV, with a profusion of brands and models any American EV enthusiast can only dream about. As an owner of a Mach-e, a '23 Bolt EUV, and a '22 Kia Niro EV, the Ford stands out as a hot mess. So any future vehicle will be an EV, but no chance it'll be a Ford (unless by some miracle BC 1.4 appears OTA by the time my flight lands in the US).

I'll tell you, given all the nice EVs I've driven around in the past couple of weeks - particularly BYDs - US manufacturers are in a whole load of trouble. Huge import tariffs on Chinese EVs are only delaying the inevitable...

22GT, zero issues in 2 years, 2 years left on Options, big issue for me is local dealer opted out of Model e so no more sales. Nearest dealer is 350 miles away and I am not sure I would be comfortable with that. Things could change in two years though. At this time I would purchase (and had planned on) another Mach.

Depends on the price. At $35K for a Premium AWD ER, heck yeah. $40K maybe not.

No EV perfect. I wanted better efficiency and range from my Ioniq 5, more passenger/cargo space from my i4, regular controls on my 21 ID.4, and normal suspension on my R1S.

Today, I’d push folks to lease an EV short term and not consider it for road tripping. There are plenty of options that fit that criteria.

I've had my '21 GTPE over 2.5 years now and was curious if any other owners have any opinions on their next vehicle, will you go for a newer mach e with the latest software and slightly better efficiency, or are you thinking about looking elsewhere? At 3 years the basic warranty is done along with free trials on a lot of the tech features. I think the depreciation is greater than other similarly priced vehicles. Just curious on others opinions on this.
already did, had a 21 for 2.5 years, bought a 23.5 last september.

Got my 2023.5 CR1 in Sept '23. I was literally going to sign paperwork to buy an Edge, but test drove the MME on the way in to the showroom on the suggestion of the salesperson. I was hooked!

Almost went to a buyback in March '24 due to parts not being available for a repair. MME sat in the shop for 12 weeks.

Even with that episode, I LOVE THIS CAR!
Almost 11,000 miles currently, 9 months of ownership, 6 months of actual operating time.

I tried to convince my wife to get her own MME when the prices dropped earlier this year. Where we live, gas prices are high and electricity prices are low. I love the performance, the tech, the ride, and the quiet. My wife doesn't want to give up her almost new Highlander with seating for 8 and lots of room for shuttling kids, friends, and soccer gear all over Western WA. She also isn't ready to deal with DCFC, range anxiety, and worrying about the effects of cold weather, etc. She enjoys the familiar and predictable reliability of her Toyota ICE.

So yes, I would buy another MME now, and when the time comes, I will absolutely look to see what the MME has turned into and consider buying another, as long as the current experience can stay positive.

If there is ever a need to replace the Highlander, I will also try to swing the wife to a BEV, depending on what's available at that time.

When my kids start driving, used MME's will be a dime-a-dozen, especially if current price trends continue, so I will steer them towards older MME's (or similar) when that time comes. My boy specifically is crazy about the MME and talks about getting his own....in 5 more years...

With all of that being said, I still feel like I want an ICE vehicle/pickup truck to have for the specific times that one is required, or if the BEV/MME is out of commission and stuck waiting for parts or a qualified tech to fix it. My truck is 23 years old and still competently tows our family travel trailer. A long bed truck is also able to do errands that an MME can't. I will keep that truck running and maintained as long as possible, hopefully as long as I am able to drive.
You sound like us, after having our MachE 2 years we sold our Highlander and bought an old Bolt instead, I wfh so we have less use for 2 cars. We shuttle our boys and friends around a lot, but our city is very small so we just take 2 EVs when we need space.

My 2 boys are also very excited to get the MachE as their first car in 7 years but I am a bit concerned that it's too much car for a 17 year old boy.

I have 21 job 1 and have had very few problems. I also would have liked a more frequent and quicker updates but this is the first car I ever got updates on. So for me 3 yrs in I'm still reading this forum, still paying clost attention to what changes are possible and being made. No other car after taking it off the lot have I paid any attention to what is coming or possible. I like the style and it does what I need. I charge at home 99% of the time so I don't suffer infastructure issue in travel and it charges to whatever level I need over night so charging curve is not an issue. So I would clearly consider another Mach E but I need to see changes. Whenever I buy a new car I want somehting different enough that I get excited about the new car and want to jump in and drive it. RIght now, I see no reason to move off my 21 for a 24.

Very important question, not only for current MME owners, but also for Ford in general. I have a ‘22 GT PE that was built in September 2022. so, I haven’t experienced the plethora of problems that many of the early adopters have. However, Ford seems to be moving away from sales and support for EV’s. Love the car, and if Ford has strong support for the MME, I would be a hard ‘yes’. Will wait and see when the time comes.

I bought my second mache a month ago tomorrow. A note though, my new 2023.5 is awesome except I am now back to the beginning in software updates. I just got 4.2.2.2. sigh. Having to deal with all the software bugs again is annoying and the wait for new updates is killing me. My kingdom for a 6. Anything update.

Only 1500 miles on our 24 version and so far A-OK. After 5 Honda's and a great local dealer for service, I tried to order a Prologue. But they said they were not available for “awhile “ meaning late fall. Due to this forum we test drove MME and with the price drop pulled the trigger. But had to leave town to find a dealer with stock AND could speak EV. I’d buy another EV Ford but only if their dealers get totally immersed in the sales/service of them. I get why many aren’t as they struggle mightily to get and keep techs. All vehicles have issues/recalls but if handled correctly and expediently many of us remain happy if not devoted to the brand. I’m really hoping Ford proves all the naysayers dead wrong.

I've had the same experience with my job 1 car. Absolutely zero problems. Only thing I've done is replaced my 12v battery couple of weeks ago. Currently looking at a Lucid Gravity but the new Mach E's with better range and performance is enticing. I still would like to have more than 350 mile range and faster charging.

“Latest software?” We all get the same software eventually.

“slightly better efficiency?” That remains to be seen if it’s just a testing difference or if any real world efficiency has changed.

I don’t think either of the above things would impact a decision to buy newer. Some people just like new cars every few years.

For me to buy a new one, it would have to be pretty drastically better.

But the 2024 and 2021 are pretty much the same car.

That entirely depends on how good the next generation is (if I'm even buying a new car at that point). There is a lot I like about my Mach E, but there is also a lot lacking against the competition on the technical side. No heat pump, slow DCFC, no V2L, etc.

There are also other features like ventilated seats and blind spot cameras when using the turn signal I'd like to have that are more convenience/luxury than a must have.

Ford also need to get their shit together with software and realize what they are charging for bluecruise subscription is absurd, especially when they aren't even pushing the updates for it.

In all honesty, I would have gone with the Kia EV6 the first time had I not been unable to find one without a $10k+ markup before congress killed the tax credit anyways. Ford does get a win in my book for making dealers honor MSRP on direct orders.

Anyone planning on buying another mach e?

Not worn the old one out yet!

Although at 86,000 miles………we’re getting there.

Planned on running this one into the ground but just seen the new Explorer’s range, if it’s a more accurate estimate than ‘Stangy’s may give one of those a punt, although another Stang is very appealing as it’s drop-dead gorgeous?
