I recently discovered that I can check the charge of my 12V battery on my account dashboard. When I started tracking it, I noticed a significant drop of over 40% overnight, which I suspect is due to a faulty FitcamX. While I'm waiting for a replacement, I'd like to ask what average (or acceptable) battery drop others have experienced overnight or over a similar time span.
  • I don't charge at home.
  • My FordPass app is never running

Mine runs from 75 to 95%. It's driven daily about 30 miles and only charged at home.
How many miles are you driving daily?

as you say, that is a massive drain. Mine has never gone below 80% in the eight months I've had it, it tends to stay between 85-95% (this is on my 23). While dealing with an issue I had with the car, the Ford BEV team mentioned that some OTAs require 80% state of charge on the 12 v. So I use that as a rule of thumb but I'm guessing for day to day use doesn't need to be that high. I never checked state of charge on my 21, but I recall a couple times getting the "low voltage warning".

Where are you seeing the 12V battery info on the dashboard? I cannot find it and neither could the chat rep from the page....

It's not actually on the (official) "Dashboard". Dashboard shows the HVB state of charge. Log in to your Ford account on the Website, then select "My Account". The charge shown on this page is the 12v battery. Edit - it my not say "My Account". It may have your name... like for me, it says "Jeff's Account".

  • I usually drive only a few miles once or twice a week and have kept an eye on the 12V SOC. I find it loses about 6% during the first 15 or 20 minutes after a trip as the car "does its things". When left undisturbed it then loses about 3% per day.

Everytime you ping the car you're waking it up and causing 12v loss...

This is helpful, thank you!

Is your keyfob or phone (PAAK) in close enough range where it's keeping the car awake?
I've found it drops about 5% per day if the keyfob and phones are kept out of range. If either is in range I've seen 20-30% drop a day. With the latest OTA, it seems to use the HVB to keep the 12V above 40%.

I keep the keyfobs in a faraday box, and the FordPass app is never running (and I have not allowed location for the FordPass app).

Did you setup PAAK? If so, that will keep the app running in the background even when you think it's not running.

It may be my ignorance, but what I have observed is that without location services, PAAK does not work until the app is running (iOS). So even if I am standing next to the car, until I launch FordPass app, it won't unlock the door.

Is your experience different?

I don't have Iphone, I'm on an android, and the app will run in the background even after I manually kill it.

It uses UWB to communicate with the car to determine distance away from the car. So even if location services is off it should still work.
I don't know about IOS though.

Ok, I believe it works differently in iOS.
