Same boat. Mine has been on order since Dec 17th. The dealer has one side, but not the other. No ETA given.
Mine have been on order since the first week of December. The service advisor keeps checking the status and the ETA went from having an ETA to "there is no ETA". Still waiting on both parts with no indication of when parts will be available.

I’m in Iowa and had my left half shaft replaced in January…I would keep on them.

my dealer called me today, yesterday he drove my car with the "service foreman" and they can reproduce the noise and they isolated it to the front left axle (?).
They ordered the parts, and they should be there tomorrow. They are telling me it's gonna be all fixed by next Tuesday.

my noise was very faint though, I'm glad they actually are trying to fix it.

Lucky you... the axles are on back order in the UK :(

They must have a secret stash then. Multiple people, including myself, have had that part on order since December. Hope you luck out and they are able to fix it quickly!

yeah, that's what I see. When he called me and talked about ordering parts I thought I was gonna have to wait ages.
I'm in Dallas so maybe they have inventory? idk but my dealer seems to be solid so far.

They used up all of the good axle shafts building cars that are sitting in Mexico waiting for chips! :(

More of the same here. Just had mine diagnosed, although I thought it was the driver-side axle causing the noise. The dealership said it was actually the passenger side. Part is backordered of course. Not sure if the part price was based upon warranty, or if there was a chance it was retail, but apparently the axle shaft cost $240, if anyone is curious and hadn't already discussed.
You and others are reporting that your service centers are only replacing one half shaft. I can tell you that from personal experience, my noise started on side but pretty soon thereafter it started occurring on both sides.

This appears to be a widespread problem, which means Ford got a bad batch somewhere along the line. Which means that if one of your half-shafts is bad, then the other is probably going to exhibit the same problem, eventually. Would make more sense to me for Ford to replace both now and be done with it.

Also, the service centers replacing front motors…. SMDH. You would think that Ford would know by now that they should try the much cheaper half-shafts first.

My right side was replaced, which made no difference so we know it's the left one!

Yep, left! It's the left! We are all waiting on the left side, haha. They also replaced my right control arm, and ordered the left one as well. Of course, it too is on backorder. Like @Mirak said, they should just replace the whole front axle at the same time. I just now have started hearing the noise when I turn left as well, wonder what that means since my right shaft and control arm were replaced.

@gnaark in 4 updates. Would be amazed if you don't get a call back from them saying sorry, there's actually no ETA on the part, or it's on backorder, etc. They are used to parts only taking a few days or less, but hasn't been the case for this particular one.

My dealer is in Eastern Iowa, so fingers crossed that someday soon they come in. I call them nearly weekly for an ETA.

Well my car went back to the dealership today. They have no idea what the noise is. I hope Ford can resolve this soon

Yep. I have that one. Looks like I'll get the halfshafts done when I get the glass work done.

I heard everyone talking about clunking sounds and all I get is clicking, so I had thought mine was something else. Funny thing is it really sounds more like a relay or small motor.
