Sorry to hear that, can't say I blame ya. It's just unfortunate. Any plans on what will replace it!? ?
We bought an Audi E Tron, we do not like how Ford handled the buy back. They said one thing & did another, which didnt sit well with us so we decided not to replace it with another Mach E

Yup have this too... Took the car in for the glass recalls and mentioned that there was clunking sound at slow speed, sharp turns, like pulling out of a driveway.

Reported back that they could not reproduce... shocking.

major rattling from the overhead console after roof glass 'repair' so it is going back. Will drive with the technician to reproduce the sound. They also need to look into the stuck 1.7.1 issue.

Today is the day! Dealer is finally ready for both halfshafts to be replaced, software is being updated and the panoramic glass and windshield recalls are being completed. I am going to check in with them on Monday. Anyone take advantage of the rental car that is available with one of the recalls? I may need this if the work is not complete by Monday EOD (they didn't think it would be).
Oh wow! Hope it's going well, that's a lot to take care of. In for updates. You've been waiting since December IIRC on the halfshafts. Good to know there is still hope... maybe.

Just saw this pop up again on what's new . . . my dealer replaced both of my half shafts about a month ago under warranty and the clunking is gone. They at first replaced just the left side, but the clunk still came from the right, so they replaced the other one.

Yes, I have been waiting since December. Frustrating I dropped it off at 7:30am Thursday and at this point all they have done is move it, once, on Friday afternoon. I have no other alerts to show they have done anything else (doors opening, location changing etc.). We are supposed to connect today for an update, but I am guessing I will need to go pickup the rental car this evening and this is going to take much longer than they originally suggested. Still hopeful though!

I’m at the dealership now. They claim both half shafts were replaced and software updated….

they claim they don’t do the glass recall and have tried to sub the work out. But no takers…

my car has been there for almost two months. Two payments and PAAK and Widget show no work performed/updates

The axle noise is getting worse. The left was replaced several months ago, but the noise returned within a few weeks. The tech said there is a TSB on it, so they have ordered the right and left. Hopefully they have a new design, increased life.

I'll post when it's replaced.

I’m wondering if replacement of the half shafts post tsb has worked for anyone. Please keep the updates going

It seems for me I have to make a really aggressive turn to hear the clunk. Since the last time it happened, I have not heard it. Is it something you hear when taking any sharp turn?

It started when taking a sharp turn under acieration, but now it's anytime when the steering is at the limits. Left is worse than the right. I wonder if it has to do with the differential on AWD MEs.

Thanks for the clarification. I only heard it while abruptly slowing down while turning. I guess I have to repeat that process.

I have a few questions about how the lemon law works. When a buyback is done do you get your money back for the car or current market value? How does this work exactly?
To initiate a buy-back one needs to call ford customer service at 800-392-3673 and request. Be prepared to provide support on why you are requesting a buy-back. I would suggest looking at your states lemon laws to determine what qualifies. You will be assigned a representative who will promise you the world, but it will never happen. Ford has a set of guidelines they go by. They are as follows, so know this going into the buy-back.

This option is for if you simply turn in the car that you purchased (If you lease the vehicle the calculations are different)
Original $ spent on car:
Original Base Purchase Price: $60,000.00
Documentary Fee: $400
Sales Tax: $5,000.00
Ford ESP: $2,000 (Warrantee you’ve paid, etc.)
Registration/License/Title Fees: $100
Clear Bra & Window Tint: $1,500.00 (Ford will likely cover items you added after market if std. add-ons like these)

Items they subtract for:
Less Usage (16,347 miles / 100,000 * $60,000 ): $9,808.20 (If you push this they will usually take some off. i.e.: For us they lowered it to $5,733)
Less Rebates/Incentives: $100.00
Less Payoff of Original Vehicle (good through 4/30/2022): $20,0000 (They will pay-off your car loans)
They also ask about any damage to the car

Total Amount Due To Customer: $39,091.80
Total Repurchase Amount: $59,091.80

You have the option of switching your lemon for another Ford (hopefully not a lemon) that you order on-line, not from dealer’s lot.
This seems more financially sound as they swap out cars and you simply pay the MSRP / tax difference. But the catch now is that cars are hard to order i.e.: year + waiting time and cars are more expensive. We tried this route but it didn’t work out for us.

All you have to do it turn the wheel to full lock and give it a decent amount of throttle and the clunking noise starts. I’ve learned to drive around the problem because the noise makes me cringe and sounds like something is going to break. Although after 30,000 miles (I drive a lot) I guess if it was going to fail it would have happened already

It sounds to me that by the time they are done subtracting for miles and wear and tear you have a buyback offer that is worse than if you just sold the car on your own…

Just know that in California (not sure about other states), if a car is taken back under a true "Lemon-Law" situation, it must be destroyed. This is why you will see dealers, and Ford themselves, try to persuade you into a buy-back... If they buy back the vehicle, they can resell it. I have had Ford do the buy back on a previous vehicle and it was very favorable.
