My center speaker was blown and the dealer told me I would have to drop my car off for 5-7 days just to look at it. So I order a Kicker 3.5in dcs35. It fits in the stock hole without any mods, it’s a really tight fit so I just screwed each side down a little at a time until in went all the way down. I also reused plug off the old speaker and soldered it to the new one. The plug was held in place by a screw on the old speaker so I just glued it to the bottom of the new speaker after I was done with the soldering. Sorry I didn’t take any pictures.

It hard to compare because The speaker was blown for a few weeks. Sounds good to me, very clean and clear when it’s set to surround

Yep. I was in this club too! Bad front, center speaker with B&O system. Sounded awful. Dealer changed it out easily under warranty in a couple days. Weird how one speaker just went bad in less than 1yr!

I don't recommend replacing the speakers with aftermarket unless going aftermarket amp. The DSP of the B&O system expects very specific speakers. Allows them to use $3 speakers and still sound decent. Center speaker may not make much of a difference but the door speakers will most likely sound worse if replaced.

I hear this is common. Good post. You must have used surround mode a lot.

I was researching replacing my speakers, and I have purchased new Infinity Kappa for the dash and doors. I am not replacing the center channel speaker. I prefer the stereo mode. I took apart my center speaker and took pictures as part of my investigation. See attached for reference.

The reason your 3.5" speaker was tight was that the opening for the speaker is 3 inches and a typical 3.5 inch speaker has an opening around ~ 3.125 inches.

For those who replaced their center speaker on their own, was the cover a pop off or did you have to unbolt anything that I am missing before having access to the speaker?

I haven't had to (nor want to) replace my center speaker but the cover pops off. There are just clips underneath.

So I’m looking to take the same route since the speaker is now back ordered until an unknown date. Clearly still an ongoing issue. I just want to validate the speaker you chose because crutchfield says it doesn’t fit the Mach E. I’m finding Kicker 43DSC3504 based on what you shared. That accurate?
