And it becomes a self profiling prophecy, without 360 cameras I used to learn my cars dimensions and how to park well, with them. In 20 years the only people who will be able to park are the old school antique car people.
I agree! I grew up with and drove what are now “antique” ? cars. I’m confident I can park without any tech and cameras, but I gladly use it, and I’m glad to have it. Especially for older drivers I think it’s crucial.

"...I use them very frequently, including every time I park in my garage."
I have a pretty tight fit between the garage wall/door and my wife's invariably poorly-parked SUV. But I never use the cameras for that - very near objects on the sides of the Mustang are pretty badly distorted in the camera views, so I find that my eyes and judgment do a better job.

I do like the 360-degree view, however. It's often handy for both parking and unparking.

The 360 camera helps, but not all Mach-Es have that. I wonder how much of this is observational bias. I can see how badly I am parked (thanks to the lines on the screen), so I feel compelled to take extra effort to perfectly center. The mundane ICE vehicles don't do this, I'm sure.

If you want to park well enough, and quickly, back into the spot, like a professional.

Yeah I think all my cars before this had some fixed point I could line up. The curves and how the hood drops and angles don’t give me a fixed point.

I honestly have only been using 360 backing up.

Will probably have to start when pulling into a spot.

It just seems silly. I feel like I should be able to park a car at this point in my life!
That button on the large screen to activate the 360 cameras is everything, it helps a bunch when pulling into a spot.

Heck my select even self parks, although I have only used it twice.
Behold! Someone who was actually able to use the Park Assist!

My FFE I can swing into a space backwards at a high rate a speed. (Wife doesn't like it when I do, but I'm damn good at it) But my MME? 90% of the time takes 2 tries. Then I get out and face palm, get back in and try the thrice.

You say this too loud and the next feature will be them removing it from the screen and placing it 4 clicks deep, and you'll need to be in Park with the Parking brake on to activate it. :bandit:

I don’t know if it’s the weird sloping and bumpy hood or what. But half the time I park, I’m nowhere near straight and even in the parking spot. ?‍♂
That's probably the reason, try to find a different reference while parking. When I got my Ford Focus, it took me 2-3 weeks to get it right.

That's the one feature I regret missing out on, having stopped software updates long ago. I have to press TWO buttons.

Life can be so unfair.

I should put my Select on ebay, working Park Assist, kick to open tailgate, and I think there is something else with those 2021 Job2s. It truly is the pinnacle MME!

Yeah I agree with this, seat position with the long hood that doesn't slope sharply makes it feel like a bigger vehicle than it is, but since you're actually sitting not that far off the ground it throws off your judgement.

Also echoing the other responses, just use the 360 camera, makes it effortless even compared to other cars I had no issue with that didn't have that kind of technology.
Since giving up sedans and moving to SUV, I am SO addicted and therefore dependent on 360 that I refuse to buy a car without one. It’s one of the primary reasons I chose Mach E over Model Y; that, and the rear cross traffic alert because I think the sage advice telling us bAcK InTo a parking spot is impractical 9 out of 10 times. And I’ll also say that backing into a spot is awkwardly hard with this Mach E. I used to do it effortlessly without a 360 camera and always got it right and parked parallel to the lines right at the center. Not this one.

I turn on 360 degree cameras every time, I use the screen more than looking out windows, lines up perfect every time.
What are 360 degree cameras? ?‍♂?

The point about the 360 view has been made well already. I'd add that to gain and use a sense of the car's position, one must have eyes out the windows during maneuvers. Looking back and forth between the 360 and "real world" doesn't result in this physical intuition, at least for me. Once I forced myself to ignore the 360 display, things got better. I try to only use it for the trickiest situations, or if human safety requires it.

I have never had an issue. My only concern is hitting concrete spot markers or sidewalks. I have been fine in that regard too so far but do worry I will pull too far forward sometime.

I found it easier to park my F350 within the lines than this car.
I think my '69 Cadillac was easier to park between the lines as well. ?‍♂?
