It is unclear that it "disengages". It did prompt munro to put his hands on the wheel, which is not necessarily the same thing. It would make sense that the auto lane centering was still engaged but the BC software asks for "backup" in case it starts to stray from the lane in the curve due to who-knows-what reason. Ford is obviously being overly cautious because they've learned to be from 118 years of being in business (and getting sued aplenty during that time). Just because other companies are blase' with safety doesn't mean every company isIts insane it can handle a curve with hands on the wheel fine but disengages without real warning when you are using it hands free. Where is the sense in that?
