Blue cruise

I gave my car for 10k maintenance and they did regular service which was mentioned in our FordPass. But they also did some softwares updates to the latest one which included Blue cruise.
While going home back I turn on my cruise control and I got message “ blue cruise in on please keep eye on road” then I realized BC has arrived in my MME. But I don’t see that blue circle around my car on front screen, but when even I don’t watch the road it gives me message to “watch the road”. Plus also gives me message keep hands on the steering. I am so confuse it’s the combination of BC and adaptive cruise control. Any idea how to drive only on BC?

actually, it sounds like he is in the boat I was this week: dealer did lots of updates, but only got him/her to 2.5.1. If you don’t have 2.5.2, and haven’t received the FordPass notification, you’ll get the BlueCruise wording on adaptive cruise control, but it won’t turn on hands free yet.

The answer is posted in a few places and there are already too many threads about BC answering the same questions.

But since it's Monday and I am in a good mood, look for the following in the sync settings.

From the dealer instructions by Ford:

Testing BlueCruise to confirm

• Ensure BlueCruise is fully installed and activated by going to SYNC and selecting Adaptive Cruise Control. Ensure Adaptive Cruise Control is turned ON and Lane Centering with Hands-Free is switched ON.

• Ensure availability of BlueCruise operation by going to SYNC and selecting General, then Settings, then About. Ensure the “Hands-Free Driving Mode available” shows a date in the future

So to add a bit to what was already said.....you asked about going back to the dealer to get 2.5.2. Those numbers refer to Over The Air updates (OTA) which the dealer has nothing to do with. What the dealer does do is update modules using the FDRS software on a dedicated shop laptop with a special adapter to accomplish even more than is currently possible with OTAs. So your dealer's tech could update your modules to a more current version of firmware if it is available that way.

Also, when you do have BC enabled in your vehicle and you select the cruise control button to engage it you will *always* from then on get a message that "Bluecruise is on and you need to watch the road" (or words to that effect), even when you are not on a Bluecruise mapped section of road. This is apparently confusing many people who now think their car has an issue when it tells them Bluecruise is on and watch the road, but then shortly after that tells them to keep their hands on the wheel. It's because yes...they have Bluecruise....but no they are not currently on a Bluecruise mapped road.

How did you got the latest update since your dealer gave you wrong update? Did you went back to dealer or OTA?

I received 2.5.2 OTA the next day, then Bluecruise came online for me the day after that.
