Everyone should have the opportunity feel the instant power of an EV.
Havn't hung out in the 5 second of power thread have you? ;) It's probably better if some people don't get that instant power.
It used to be you could walk through a cross walk and flip someone in a car off. You had, what, 2 full seconds before most cars would be able to hit you and you got a prewarning because the engine would rev. Now if everyone had instant power.. behold! Silent road rage!

Well, that's a bummer. I hope they replace them with something that's still almost affordable.
On the contrary I think this indicates they were losing money hand over fist on these. I think they kept prices low so they had an EV to sell and are now canceling it since they have the Equinox coming.

These are a genuine EV success... just in time to throw in the towel. Does anybody really think they can produce 20K Ultium cars a quarter as a direct replacement?

GM leadership is so tragic.

They should update the Bolt on a scaled down Ultium platform :)

I'm guessing some bean counter at GM looked at the cost to do so, and the projected number of "updated" vehicles they could sell in the next few years, and came to the conclusion it was too expensive for too little potential sales. Especially since it would take at least a couple of years to do the necessary engineering to retrofit things.

Good news! Now there will be less chance of those little annoying cars sitting at a DCFC for hours when others are waiting to use it.

Haha, yep. Every time I see a bolt charging, the owner is taking a nap. They should give out a Bolt-branded fire retardant pillow and blankey with every vehicle.

GM has a long history of killing cool cars right as they finally get them sorted. It seems that their new plan is to delay new model release until they are obsolete. We'll see how well that works for them.

The Bolt is a great car for someone who doesn't need a Mach-E.

I assume the decision was based on economics. With a low selling price for the car GM can't be making huge profit margins and raising the price dramatically would not go over well. The Bolt also has Apple Car Play, which GM is no longer offering in their EV's so they can have a subscription model for connected services. If they raised pricing and pulled Car Play on the Bolt, I am sure sales would suffer dramatically.

GM overtakes Ford as second-best seller of EVs in U.S. but still trails Tesla by a wide margin
"A majority of GM’s EV sales were of its Chevrolet Bolt models that start under $30,000."

GM better hope Equinox sales take off or they'll drop way down in the rankings.

Yup, this is great advice. I bought an EUV Premier ($33k - $7.5k tax credit) a couple months ago and it's a good car for the money. Leather interior, better 360 degree camera, heated & ventilated front seats, heated rear seatssteering wheel, digital rear view mirror display, parking sensors, good amount of rear legroom.

Minuses: no Homelink, memory seats, frunk, control charging settings from app, navigation, 50 kW DCFC, ride/steering.
