Brake Service?

I don’t know what salt does to brakes, but the brakes on the MME will likely last 100K miles, at least here in Seattle.
I had a Leaf with 90K miles and the pads still looked brand new.

The salt spray from the roads washes all the brake lube (especially the rear) off the sliding surfaces. Then they seize up (usually one side or the other) and you get uneven pad wear or it will warp the rotors. I read somewhere that drum brakes believe it or not would be well suited for EV’s since they need less braking efficiency than a regular vehicle and drum brakes would need less maintenance.

Back in the day, a long time ago, fancier motorcycles like BMW had I believe four-shoe drum front brakes... it's a good technology which got overtaken by a better technology. However, it did work.
