It is pretty wild that 4 years in no manufacturer has produced a reliable, long working, lit pony. Every company seems to keep having issues.

Agree with you Rick. As far as the Ponies go, the V2's are much better and have been working great for the past year. The bigger issue is that Ford has changed the wiring for the headlamp systems and rear taillights between '23 and '24 model years so the connector/harnesses for the earlier years don't work on the newer ones. Not to mention in the earlier years Ford had two different headlamps for the Mach-E and that required different connectors. Kind of a mess but things are being straightened out now with connectors that will work with both style headlamps and the various years.

By the way, anyone that is having issues with V1 ponies will get them replaced for free no matter how long they have had them.

21 premium. Installed front pony after receiving the new harness. No issues. Looks great. Did not have to take off the front camera connections as in the instructions video.
Pony lights up only when the headlights are on. Which I think is expected.
I cannot fathom why the video instructions say to disconnect the front camera! I've now installed front ponies twice and disconnecting the camera never crossed my mind.

The original batch of v1 ponies had the pony lit whenever the car was on, as the harness tapped into the DRLs. I'm guessing BSKT correctly realized that it was unnecessary, as the v1 ponies were not as bright as the v2 so you could not tell the pony was lit in daylight, and also probably bad for the longevity of the pony. Personally, I am also happy with the change as it seemed silly to have the pony on at all times.

Jeff, with the new connectors, you will have your choice to either have them lit with the. headlights or on all the time. ?

Is that a matter of moving a wire in the connector? I am happy with them coming on with the headlights but now you have me curious!

Hi guys from Denmark here, I Installed the front pony from BSKT Design yesterday and made a installation video, there is no issues in the connector, the pony looks amazing and is always on, there is people in the UK that has installed it too and the same no issues, seems this connector issue is just to USA Mach-E’s, however i got good news as im in close dialogue with Bskt design they are producing a new connector that fits in all Usa Mach-e´s coming very soon. Stay tuned ?

Hey Jannick, nice to see those ponies all lit up!

Yes the US has different wiring than the rest of the world and while some US Mach-E's will work with the ponies, others do not. Not only did Ford have different headlamps between various models in the US but they also changed wiring from '23 to '24 models. In any case, as I mentioned earlier in this thread, I talk with Bruce (owner of BSKT) on a daily basis about these issues, future products, shipping, etc for US customers. He is sending the new connector/harnesses to me for final testing on various Mach-E's then I'll be shipping them out. I don't expect to see them before the middle of next month.

No Jeff, it is the matter of adding more wires to the connector/harness. I personally think the pony should only light up with headlamps because during the day you don't notice them lit up unless it is a cloudy. Why have them powered up when you can't really see them? The new connector/harness will have the option to have it either way.

I also agree with having the front pony light up only when the headlights are on vs. any time the car is on/active. However, I'm curious about the upgraded harnesses. When you say they will have the option either way, will there be a switch on the harness to toggle between the two modes? Will it be an external switch you can access once the pony is installed and all the frunk paneling has been replaced? Just curious because this would be a completely novel feature for these ponies.

No switch. There will be two different wires you can connect the pony to. One is for lit when headlights are on, the other lit anytime the car is on. So you will not be able to change this once the frunk panels are back on.

Gotcha, that's kinda what I suspected - one-and-done once everything in the frunk was put back. Guess people are gonna have a decision to make. Thanks again Mark.

Unless someone decides to add a pigtail that extends into the frunk allowing them to switch back and forth…but no one on this forum would do that. ?

my lit pony after install. I used the updated harness you sent me and even though it was a pain in the butt to install, I love the look now. Biggest issue I had was removing the old pony due to the clips on the back (couldn't get my hand in there and trying to use a screwdriver to remove them was a major pain.) was finally able to get the old pony off and installed the new pony but could only get 2 of the clips on the back posts. then after getting it installed and all the frunk panels put back in it didn't work. I had to redo the wiring from the harness to the pony. but as you can see it now works. oh one other thing.... the wires were too short. I had to maneuver the harness box into the area by the headlight plug to get it long enough to reach the pony wires. suggestion - make either the pony wires or the harness wires longer.... can always tape up the extra vs trying to make a short wire longer.
