My FE also had motor updates that I ran about a week ago. It had way more updates including ABS, IPMA, BCM, the same ones the GT had, and maybe a few more. I ran all available. Took me all day with the IPMA taking over 2 hours.
Have you posted a Wiki yet with all of the available updates? It would be great to be able to tell the dealer which modules need updating. When I asked last week, I was told that there is only the PaaK update, but I was intentionally vague about my inquiry.

Does it just bother me alone with my OCD that the "calm mode" visual background is showing the front grille mustache of the non-GT model on the GT screen? This lack of attention to detail didn't make me calm :)
I'd much rather just have a screen with either abstract patterns or nothing at all

It is impossible to know what modules need updates without plugging in. They may come out with a new update superseding the last one once a month…They literally have been doing that for some modules recently.

Your dealer meant the only update they can do for free is the PAAK one which is to update the RFA.

It is SUPER simple for the dealer to see what needs updates.
1. Connect the VCM to the car and laptop
2. Launch FDRS and connect to vehicle
3. Once CMDTCS are read and modules have been identified click continue.
3. Select the “SW Updates” tab to filter to only modules with available software updates - this is the step that says what modules have available updates.
5. Hit “download” on every module then “run” once the module is downloaded. Follow instructions for updates.

Keep in mind these updates are only what Ford has released for your vehicle. For example, My GT has BlueCruise but on my FE there are no updates available yet for BlueCruise according to FDRS.

Tell them you have excessive fan noise when charging and provide the TSB. That covers 6 modules. Depending on your build date you could go for the DSP update with an intermittent no audio complaint. Give them the bulletin number for that one, too. ;)

Very early build date of November 2020. I'm sure there are plenty, but I haven't had any real issues. Double knock on wood! Thanks!

How did you find this? I LIVE in CT and can't even find a premium without a $5k+ dealer scam up. And now you have two?

Friend of mine who lives in Springfield, MA followed a small dealer in Eastford, CT on Facebook. Was scrolling one morning and noticed they posted a pic of this blue GT PE. I had expressed if he could find me a GT PE with no ADM I would buy it. He sent it to me so I called them. I couldn't believe that it was A. For sale and 2. For sale with no markup or extra dealer BS. So I went and bought it. Very odd dealer but good experience. One of my best dealer experiences all things considered.

I'm selling the red one probably today or tomorrow.

Dealer scan tool (VCM 2 or 3) or an FDRS compatible scan tool. Then purchase an FDRS subscription (IDS or FDJS, both come with FDRS). FJDS/FDRS is $50 for 2 days or $900 for a year.
How is it that you happen to have this capability? Is this something that any MME owner could get?

Yes. You just need a compatible J2534 adapter and to purchase an FDRS subscription. Keep in mind you cannot program a second key fob without a dealer or locksmith login though. Only software updates and other diagnostics.

Check out these two threads for more info:

https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/fdrs-mach-e.8859/
https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/mongooseplus-ford2-and-fdrs.9566

Keep in mind that you are looking at $500-$1500 for the scan tool, $50 for the FDRS two-day license (minimum), another $100-200 if you don't have a powerful (30A+) 12V charger. You'll also need a reliable Windows laptop. None of it is rocket science, but it isn't for the faint of heart either - you really don't want one of these updates to fail mid-load. The tools also open up the future ability to use the independent software Forscan to make deeper changes like tire circumference, beep settings, etc. (though none of that is available just yet).

Ok. Let me get this straight. With at $50.00 adapter (https://www.amazon.com/OBDLink-EX-F...&keywords=j2534+adapter&qid=1632426597&sr=8-7 ) and a $50.00 two-day subscription, I could update all the software modules on my MME?
No, that one doesn't work. You need a J2534 device listed here: https://www.motorcraftservice.com/diagnostic/FJDSSupport?categoryId=247

(Once you select your country and language, the page errors out. Just open the link I posted again and it should work)

Keep in mind J2534 adapters are NOT the same as regular OBD-II scanners, even though they both plug in to the OBD port.

And PS: Some on this forum have had success with this: https://www.amazon.com/Mongoose-Plus-J2534-Vehicle-Interface-Cable/dp/B097NHQ7ZW
