I've talked with a number of people that have already done it. I still marvel that Ford didn't put some type of pre-payment penalty. The incentive at the time I bought mine was only $1k and the interest rate woudl be 2.25%. so for me it made no sense, I went with straight ford 0.9% for 48 months. But for the $2500 incentive definitely worth it, as you can easily find laans much cheaper than 2.25%.

Yes I did Options strictly for the $2500. I paid it off when the first statement came, about 2 weeks after I picked up the car. Right on the statement was a full payoff amount which was what I sent. 2 weeks later Ford sent me a check for $20-something dollars (pro rated overpayment of interest I assumed), along with a notarized letter of lien release. Another couple weeks later I received the title.
