Let me know whenever you turn it off btw lol, I'll copy the steps needed.
Spent about 10 mins looking at it today but of course it is different than the 2021 F150...

This is my first Ford, never used Forscan before but I'm good with tech.

Anyone try this?
This is the double honk that tells you the door is locked, right? There is a setting that disables the honk. I disabled it when the FP update came out that allowed walk-away notification to the FP app.

No. This is the 'no key detected' double honk.

Does the MME (and Fords generally) not have a more reasonable calmer sound than the horn??

My RAV4 has a nice gentle chirp for lock, unlock, and warning.

I get a honk on my Chevy Volt too but I rarely leave the car on, get out, and close the door so not sure what the big deal is, am I missing something? Itā€˜s just warning you that you may have forgotten to turn off the carā€¦.

True, but it is doing is very obnoxiously. If it were two quick horn chirps it would be no big deal. I see no reason that Ford can't make this user selectable like the walk away lock honk. On an ICE vehicle it makes some sense as there have been cases of people dying of CO poisoning because they left their vehicle running in their garage.

The only time my car has ever honked at me was when I left it on, got out, and closed the door.
What are you guys doing that makes it double-honk?

Mine doesnā€™t do that either.
So if you get out of the car while it is completely on with ready light, and have your phone and the key fob in your pocket (no key fob in the car if you have a second) and close ALL of the doors, it doesn't honk twice at you?

This is what we are talking about.

The only addition is if PAAK decides to not detect your phone and someone gets out it will double honk when they close the door if the car is still on.

The double honk for leaving it running is ridiculous. One of my biggest pet peeves. I know it's running, stop treating me like a child. Ford, and other companies do this with many things. I keep the fob in my pocket, because PaaK doesn't work at all, and leaving the car running to run in a gas station for a few while family is in the car, double honk. Leaving home but forgot sunglasses, run back inside to get them? Double honk. Idiotic. Many other instances where it does this.

It warns you if it detects a rear seat occupant when turning off the car. Why can't it do the same if the vehicle is on and you get out. It should be able to detect someone there, and not honk.

Or stop treating us like idiots and turn off all these silly measures they deem in our best interest. Without the option to turn off.

Similarly, the lock when walking away feature is fantastic. But it needs more distance before it locks. As I said, I have the fob in my car, and I cannot get out and open the door for my wife or get my 4 year old out of the back without it locking first. Staying as close to the car as possible, it still locks. Then gets caught in a lock/unlock fight, when I am standing there pushing the button with nothing happening. Literally less than a foot between the car and myself, and it locks. Annoying, and poor planning on their part.

OK, got it. I guess it happens so infrequently that it doesnā€™t bother me.
I think itā€™s a good idea because the car is so quiet, but it would be nice if the sound was less intrusive.
I donā€™t take it personally, though.

The car does not actually detect rear seat occupants. The alerts are based on opening and closing of the rear doors.
