I was looking for a car mount in a prior post. Someone had recommended the Arkon mount. After checking out all the options I decided to try it. I'm probably going to take off the phone holder and replace it with a magnetic wireless charging mount just to make mounting and unmounting a one handed simple operation but so far it seems like a good solution.

Looks good! Mine's still sitting in a box, but I'll have to get it out and attach it. Having the phone at eye level again will be very convenient.

I tried quite a few mounts before I could find one that stuck to the dash. Joyroom.
Ending up running a cable from the center console socket to get fast charge.

Interesting. I didn't even consider trying a dash mount. It didn't seem like they would work given the surface texture. How did you get it to stick?

I found what looks like a good phone holder that mounts on the screen. I still need to do some more research on it. Need to evaluate that it will not damage the screen, which would make it a very expensive phone holder. I sure that a little bit of felt or silicon will ensure the bracket does not scratch or push on the screen. The bracket is ABS plastic. I plan on putting a screen protector on the touch screen so not too worried.

I tend to not like windshield or vent mounts and want the phone holder up high and closer to me. It is the A-Tach phone mount. I found it on E-bay. The nice part is that you can just buy the bracket and add your own phone holder. I like the phole holders with the charger in them so will probably just buy the bracket and pick up a holder with cord. Wire management is easy. The holder can be put on the left or right side of the screen and they have a magnetic holder.

Out of curiosity, why do you need your phone mounted while driving? I keep mine in my pocket.

Well, for one, when I had a long commute or for long distance travel I'd sometimes use a garmin gps plus Waze or Google Maps. But I don't do either right now.

I have a Valentine 1 radar detector and the phone software provides additional info about bogies and alerts. And, Waze.
