I would have the charge times set in the car rather than the charge station. Did you mention what your charge station was saying it was doing when this problem was happening.
...no, I did not, as I did not check the status of the EMporia 🤦‍♂️

If you want a reliable setup, you NEVER set it in the app, always in the car. Yes, it shouldn't matter, but... It's Ford...

WalkAway:
If one has their key fob with them, walks away, the car locks.
However, if one then MANUALLY unlocks the doors, via the Ford Pass app, it will still relock/autolock, after X minutes?
No, it will not. I just checked mine. BUT, if you open the car after unlocking it (as you did), then yes, it will lock after 2 minutes.

I also use an Emporia EVSE (no schedule set on the charger side) and have the Mach-E set to handle the schedule (11:00 PM – 5:00 AM, both weekdays and weekends).

Interestingly, I only started experiencing this "no charge while unlocked" glitch after having the recent recall work done (NHTSA campaign number: 25V404000 / Ford number: 25S65). Before that update, the car would charge regardless of the lock status. Now, if I leave it unlocked, the FordPass app behaves just like yours—it acts as if the charger isn't even plugged in. As soon as I hit the lock button, the "Start Charge" button reappears and the handshake completes.

It seems like the recent software update tied to that recall might have introduced a bug in how the car detects a plugged-in state or manages the charging contactors while the vehicle is "awake" (unlocked).

Cheers; I actually did it in the car (today), and then checked the app, to confirm it had the same settings...

Thanks for sharing that. Nice to know I am not totally losing my marbles 😂

For a while now I have complained that from time to time, my Emporia charger would not charge the MachE GT overnight (scheduled to do so).

Same issue happened last night/today. I then went into the Ford Pass app to start the charge, but there was no Start Charge button. The app was showing as if the charger was not connected; yet it was, I checked.

Confused, I decided to lock my car, since it was unlocked from last night, and then the Start Charge button showed up.

With the above in mind, has it not been charging on and off over the months, because the car was not locked?

PS: I know someone is going to probably say read the manual. Alas, let's skip that statement...
Well I have an Emporia charger with the schedule on the charger and I’ve not had this problem.
My charger is about 15 months old, hardwired to a 60A breaker, my MME is a ‘24 Premium. I do have a charge level set for ‘Home’ in the MME. I’ve disabled walk away locking at least a year ago.
hopefully this may help your troubleshooting.
