If I'm going to be away for three weeks, how should I handle charging for my car? I'm planning on charging to 90% and leaving the car plugged in the entire time (Older JuiceBox Pro as the EVSE, in case that matters), but checking to make sure this is correct.

3-weeks isn't that long, but you should probably leave it even lower than 90%, if you can. Run it down to 60% or 50%, and then set max charge at that level and leave it plugged in.

I’d be worried about lightning strikes leaving it plugged in that long. Just get it to 50-60 and it’s fine unplugged.

While Lightning strikes, and surges, may be a thing in Florida, most of us never consider them.

Manual describes what to do if you're leaving the car for 30+ days. For 3 weeks, plan on leaving it at 90% is fine. I wouldn't spend time charging to 90% if it was at 50% or more.

I appreciate the replies. As for a lightning strike, around here an earthquake or tsunami would be more likely, but I certainly get your point.
