OP here. My theory appears to be incorrect. Like others I've now noticed that my connected features stuff (icon at the top, populated menu of options) comes and goes. often when I don't see the icon up top on a drive, it will be there the next time. I've made some departure changes in the app and although they rarely make it to the car that doesn't necessarily mean that the connected features stuff will be disabled the next time. Oh well, we continue to wait. As a software developer, when I have bugs, I'm expected to fix them immediately. I realize they can't be hasty with these things and push something out that causes bigger problems, but this seems like a relatively simple one. Oh well, winter is flying by, hopefully scheduled departure times from the Fordpass app work next year. ?‍♂

The Ford rep said that the modem should be re provisioned, not the TCU., sorry.
Yeah that still doesn’t make much sense if all connectivity is working, it’s just an intermittent bug on 4.1.2, I haven’t run into it on 4.1.3 yet so it may have been fixed?

I updated via FDRS to the latest builds about a month ago. My Lightning took OTA to 4.2.1 a few days ago, so I was surprised my Mach-E hasn’t yet. I noticed this exact issue while driving it today as I had disabled WiFi on to help OTA updates over cellular (I have an LTE booster for AT&T in my garage connected to my 1Gbps fiber), but there was no cellular connection. And then I could not get it to connect to WiFi when I got home. The temporary workaround was to disable wireless app projection and Bluetooth, then WiFi immediately connected. There’s definitely an issue here.

at this point I’m wondering if it’s worth $50 to force updates myself via fdrs.

Yeah it’s a known bug, you can also pull the 11 fuse under the passenger footwell if you have zero connectivity.

Thanks.

After figuring out how to get the fuses without breaking the trim (such a dumb design), I pulled the fuse for 5 minutes and cellular connectivity returned. Considering how little I drive the Mach-E, I have a feeling it'll always require FDRS upgrades...fingers crossed the OTA actually comes and fixes this bug.

That panel pops out pretty easily, should only need to pull the two clips and then it swings up to reveal the fuses

on this topic the best advice i saw here was to stuff a rag in the gap beneath the fusebox to avoid losing the fuses if you happen to drop one. for my part it was like playing operation when i was pulling and replacing those fuses, lol. not sure i've ever concentrated harder in my life.

I pulled those fuses that everyone said to pull and nothing happen. Still no connection to FordPass, or to wifi or anything dealing with my MME. Plus still waiting after 2 months for my TSU Module to be delivered to me. Talk to Ford and they not doing nothing about it. All the money for this EV and they making it look like they don't give a care in the world.

Pretty sad and frustrating that we have to resort to pulling fuses. I just really don't get it, Ford is investing heavily in electric cars, and they could be gaining fans for life with these first attempts, with their biggest names nonetheless (Mustang and F150), and yet it's bugs, bugs, bugs, for three model years now. I've been a Ford guy my whole life, including this being the sixth Mustang I've owned, but I hope this doesn't sour me to Ford. Come on Ford, hire some top software engineers and get this crap fixed!

TCUs are definitely back ordered; i just waited about 5 weeks for one. which is a waste, since i told the service advisor i didn't need it but he insisted upon ordering it. no way i'm having them replace it since i got everything working.

hopefully after 2 months yours should show up any day now.

Nope it won't because the dealership just put the order in the other day and not two months ago when I was told it was order and backed order.

Is anyone with FPU 4.2.1 still seeing this issue?

I just went out to my vehicle again to see it not connecting to cellular with the same issue as before. I reconnected it to WiFi and now see 4.2.1 is downloading, but not ready to install. Hoping this update helps.

The TCU for our '23 Mach-E Premium just came in. The service manager said that replacing the unit takes a few minutes but getting it programmed can take up to 4-5 hours! We dropped the car off at the dealership at 7am and haven't heard anything yet (almost 1pm).

I'm planning on keeping an eye on the Connected Features and will report back here.

The only thing missing for me is my expired BOCN. Not probably going to pull fuses to get that back anytime soon.

Is there a reason they changed the TCU? This seems to be a software bug, wonder if the same thing will happen unless the new TCU has updated software?
