With all the smart people posting on the forum, I can't believe no one has devised an connection to both the positive terminal and the negative post, protruding through the frunk wall to attach a battery charger directly. This would eliminating the removal of the frunk center and side panels. I don't expect Ford to come up with a connection, but no one in the forum is up to the challenge.
I understand the minimum charge level of the LVB, but the hassles and inconvenience is crazy in such an advanced machine. If break controllers for a trailer are nothing more then a plug in connection; why can't the same principle be applied to a battery tender?

Many of us have cut openings and put in plastic plugs, there are threads showing the process.

I just bought two SAE receptacles to make it easier to connect my Battery Tenders. The Lightning is going in the front fender wall, haven't figured out the Mach-E location. Probably the frunk area. Easy to open frunk on it, Lightning I can't access frunk when truck is pulled into the garage.

As Johnathan and Rick posted above, many of us have cut holes in the panel for easy access and there are several threads about this. A few of us have external connections for various reasons.

I installed a connection at the charge port to hook up my CTEK trickle charger if I ever wanted to. It also has an LED display letting me know the charge voltage status of the 12V battery.

That's quite a conclusion to jump to.

Where did you find this junction box? I searched EBay and Amazon and can’t locate it anywhere
I would appreciate your input
Thanks

The jump point that I put in my MME is a race car part from Eddie Motorsports and is designed to be able to run enough current to jump a 500+ cubic inch high compression engine. Totally overkill for running FDRS updates on my MME but super-easy to use. ??

I assume the wires from the battery to the junction box are not included ?
What gauge wire did you use?

I will be leaving the Mach e in the garage for an bit over two ,months this winter (cold climate). A preponderance of opinion on this board seems to be to have the HVB at about 50%, do NOT plug in the level 2 charger, and attach a 12v trickle charger to the LVB with positive to positive and negative to frame (not to negative battery post).

1. Is ,y summary accurate? Any suggested changes?

2. Are the "smallish" alligator clips on on a Battery Tender Junior adequate connectors?

3. Where is the best frame connection for the negative? Any location useable above the frunk trim panels in to frunk area itself?

Thanks for your sage advice.
stuck my trickle charger thru the front under the frunk hood. Hook up almost every night to monitor the 12V battery. Cheapest solution.

I see the CTEK port has a deep rectangle box on the back side. Did you have any clearance issues getting the CTEK to fit?

Open frunk.
Remove center panel.
Remove driver's side panel.
You will see a positive post and a negative post under the driver's side panel. Use those.
Just to clarify: you will find those posts right under the + and - markings on the driver's side beauty panel.
