Cracked glass Roof

Any advice on how to handle a cracked glass roof? I have no idea how it happened, just noticed it today .

It will need to be replaced. Your insurance will likely cover it.

Is there any sign of something hitting it or any other exterior condition that may have caused it? If not bring it to your dealer and it should be covered under warranty.

I've replaced mine twice. First time it happened I took it to the dealer and they determined it was a stress fracture and it was replaced under warranty. It took several months to receive it (this was two years ago). Second time was because of rock damage and it was replaced by State Farm under my glass coverage. The labor was done in one day, but they had it for two days because the glue has to cure.

Although I admit the pano glass roof is cute, yet now that we know about its cold weather cabin heat leaking weakness and its occasional fragility makes me (again) wish that Ford had not made it a mandatory part of the Tech package.

We can probably thank Elon for the glass roof craze. My miserly ways payed off since my Select has a metal roof . I have had them before on cars and never found them very interesting.

I guess they’ve learned their lesson since it’s now optional for 2024.
