Will I lose this ability completely if I let my onboard navigation subscription lapse, or would I just lose the map/charger updates - But still be able to precondition for any chargers that are still listed on the outdated maps?

I think you’ll be able to precondition to existing chargers only.

You MAY be able to use Apple Maps/Google Maps/Waze, all of which are supporting navigation to chargers. Not confirmed this will also trigger preconditioning but these services are fairly well integrated so... maybe?

You won’t be able to see details by clicking on it, but should still be navigable.
Yes - Navigate, but does not pre-condition; I did notice it did not have all of the chargers that had even existed months (possibly years) before my subscription expired.

Same, I have expired Nav and I could not get mine to precondition except in the following cases:

* Charger is listed in "Recent destinations", and selecting it from there will precondition
OR
* Enter a new destination, but before clicking "Go", look in the "nearby" section and choose chargers. Pick any charger and it will precondition.

Note: For the 2nd workaround, it doesn't have to be the charger you're actually going to use. Last week I went looking for a Tesla SC, but there are EA on the same site. I picked EA in Ford Nav because it didn't know about the Teslas. Of course, the further away it is, then Ford Nav will take you off course.

If the charger icon is showing in the IPC while you are navigating to your destination it will be preconditioning (within the ~20-miles). If there is no charger icon, you are not preconditioning.

I hadn’t driven the car for a couple of days so I just wanted to go out for a drive, which is the one nice thing about having an EV. You can go out for a pleasure drive without worrying about the prices of gas cause the price never changes at home. So I set a route to the charger which was about 20 miles away. I didn’t know there’s a certain amount of distance you have to drive to precondition how do you know if it preconditions and this is one of those hyper fast up to 350 and the charging level seems to fluctuate between 95 and 115 that sound about right ?

We just received in EU the OTA update for HVB preconditioning when a route is set to a DC charger.
Is there a way to see if the preconditioning is going on before arriving to the charger?
Last time I set a route to a DC charger but charging was not necessary for that driving range and I had a low charging level even if the charger was at 75 miles from departure.

There will be a charger icon on the left side of the instrument panel when the car plans to precondition on the way to that destination. I don't have a picture to share.
Don't confuse the battery icon with the charger icon. The charger icon shows a cord hanging out the right side and will be immediately below the battery icon.

Don't forget to completely turn off cabin climate controls so that the battery can fully utilize them for itself. In colder temps, I found that very little heat was making its way to the battery until I flipped climate to off.
