Got a call from my fiancé about an hour ago that the Mach-E wouldn’t start after her 14 hour shift at the hospital. All sorts of warnings were popping up on the dash; Stop safely now, service advance trak, the whole nine yards. 74% SoC so no idea why the car wasn’t keeping the 12V in good shape.

Since it was so late and she was tired, I picked her up and went home. Going back tomorrow morning to try and jump start the car. It’s parked in an employees only structure that would be a nightmare to try and fit a tow truck through if it comes to that. Wish me luck.

I think the doors have to be locked for it to sleep. People are doing something different when leaving the car parked. But damned if I know what.

Good luck. Getting it started by your self is better than taking it to the dealer.

Make sure nothing is plugged into the ACC port in the storage under the armrest! I had mine not turn off the other night and the car sent me a message about midnight that a power draining accessory was plugged in and causing the 12V battery to drop power. I had the happen with a fused switched port a few days later that my dash cam is hard wired to.

This is a new behavior and has never been an issue. I has only happened once each and not again.

Nothing was plugging into the power outlet or any USB port that could have caused this.

Good luck pulling the frunk covers if you have not done that yet. The blind fasteners have a habit of coming off and disappearing....I'm rooting for you!

Lol thanks for the heads up. No I haven’t done it yet and I really thought I wouldn’t have to since I’ve only got 2500 miles on the car.

I hear ya, the only reason I did is because of all the reports of LVB problems. Decided to pull the covers and connect a charger for a couple days to avoid problems caused by the car sitting for weeks and weeks.

Best tip I can give you is that the back cover has to come off first because it overlaps the side covers. I think you can get by with just partially lifting the right side, but they will crack if flexed too much.

Well this day has turned out to be pretty horrible so far. I wasn’t able to get the vehicle jump started and moving again, so I used Ford roadside to call a tow truck. The first one they sent was a big flatbed that wouldn’t fit in the parking structure. Makes no sense that they let you specify where the vehicle is parked and if there is low clearance yet they ignore those details when dispatching a vehicle. So I call again and get another tow truck after specifying that I need something small enough to fit in a tight parking structure. The second row truck arrives and is yet another huge flatbed. So I call Ford roadside again to have them change to another service. Well I just got the call from the third tow truck that he’s en route, so I specifically ask him if he’s in a truck capable of fitting in a parking structure. Nope! Yet another full size flatbed….
At this point it’s been over 6 hours and I’m freezing my behind off.

Has anyone been able to fix these 12V battery issue on their own without a trip to the dealer. Would a trickle charger revive it? I’m really sick of dealing with Ford’s incompetent customer service and trying to get a tow. If I can just get the vehicle moving again I can take it to the dealer myself.

I dont think the car is to be towed without a flatbed. Have you tried putting it in emergency tow mode and pushing it out of the limited clearance lot?

I wish it was that easy but I can’t push this 5000 lb vehicle around 6 stories of a parking structure to get it out.

In towing mode you can connect tow straps to another car (ensure you connect to the right spots) and pull it around the structure if needed. This is stuff Fords people should know but they are only as good as the subcontractor they call to do the work.

I'm sorry you're going through this. When you say you weren't able to get it jumped, what steps did you take here? Did you get any response from the electronics inside the car once you were connected to another car?

Whereabouts in Michigan are you? I doubt you're anywhere close by to Chicago, but I have battery jump packs, 12v AGM charger, and FDRS hardware. Be willing to help if you're not far.
