Do you consider the Mach-E an SUV?

No. I was astounded when the dealer's service guy called it a 'truck'. It is an estate car or sportwagen in Euro terms.
or a shooting brake. UK. I don’t know or understand the origin

I might refer to an SUV as a car if I am being generic.

The Mach-E to me is an SUV, it has the form factor of one. Pretty much any elevated vehicle is loosely an SUV in my mind. The Mach-E definitely straddles this line more than most other SUVs, but if you made me choose a one word label with no other explanation, I am going to go with 'SUV' over 'car'.

If I wanted to be really technical, those of us with 2021's are actually driving small station wagons ;)

But it's heavier (and faster). How about "Mustang Heavy"? It's what happens when a Mustang grows up.
It's like a weightlifter. Stronger, bigger, heavier, but less nimble than the original version.

Not an SUV. I think the MME even stretches "crossover". It's not tall (it's actually shorter than the Nissan Rogue, Honda CR-V or even Ford's own Escape).

I once compared the dimensions of the MME to those of a '71 Mustang coupe. The MME is almost exactly the same length/width. It's about a foot taller, but you need room for those batteries SOMEWHERE, right?

It's a car. It looks like a car (I've had many tell me "nice car"; not a single "Nice truck" yet). It drives like a muscle car and the view out over the hood is pretty authentic.

"Shooting brake" specifically refers to a 2-door wagon, like a Volvo P1800.
thanks! But thought the conversion of of a 4 door Model 3 to a wagon was referred to as a shooting brake?

Yeah, I get the drool factor all the time because there’s like maybe three in the area where I live at so nobody even knows what kind of car it is after the time. And I’ve always loved having a mustang GT but the wife just doesn’t like riding in it. She says it makes her sick, because I’ve always had a 6 speed on the floor, so we traded 23 Nissan rogue for this car because it’s a compromise, I wanted a Mustang she wanted an SUV so that’s why we ended up in this and I tell you what I absolutely absolutely love it and now that I put the bigger tires on it, Michelin CC2, I love that aggressive look of those tires. I love the car.

I can't help it if someone called it that. We've had BMW and Mercedes-Benz calling 4dr sedans "coupes" for decades, too.

I realize I'm biased but I think the MME is better-looking than just about every other EV short of an Audi E-Tron or a Porsche Taycan.

I live in a remote northern Canadian city where MMEs have sold oddly well, so we have several running around here now, but none with the nice wheels I put on mine ?

I agree, when it was just a thought that I was going to get it my son a total gearhead he’s like oh my God like that and then when I drove the car over there, they could not say enough good things and then when I took them for a ride that even shut them up even more, they could not believe the power that thing has. And now with the new bigger taller, aggressive tires, and the new wheels, everybody is just like wow!

I've been willing to call my Mach-E an SUV for the past year until I got my federal tax credit. Now I'm now calling it a car. It's a little taller than most cars, but I'd say it's a lot shorter than most SUV's. It's funny that some people have raised their Mach-E's, and others have lowered. To each their own. I suppose you could call it a "Hatchback", but that doesn't really suit it either. My previous car could fold the back seats down and have way more space than the Mach-E with seats folded. Not a lot of storage space. Barely enough for 2 sets of golf clubs with the seats up. I did bring my golf clubs to dealer last winter just to make sure they fit (deal breaker).
Nope, but I'm glad the IRS did the year I bought it. It's a crossover, otherwise known as a tall hatchback. {Jonathan}

According to the State of New Jersey, as per my vehicle registration, it's a truck. However, anything that happens in New Jersey, gets buried in New Jersey.
