When BlueCruise works, it's great, but for me it shuts off hands-free and goes into Active Drive Assist mode when:

- going over 80 mph (ok, just their setting)
- there's too much snow (I get this, because the cameras and road are blocked)
- there's too much rain (I almost understand this one, but I feel BC drives better than I do)
- there's too much sun ( seems to wash out the street lines, so it can't see it)

Strangely, BC works great at nighttime. Never a problem at night, except if there's precipitation.

Is your experience the same?

Discussed often. Yes, all of those, and "when the lines on the side of the road aren't there".

I use BC as much as I can. I almost never drive the car on the freeway. I’m not sure I want it to drive in the snow or heavy rain anyway.

Nighttime is sadly my biggest issue. I’ve debugged it down to apparently my eyes are not open wide enough to make the camera happy. Hope some type of night driving shades might help…don’t have problems during the day when I wear shades.

Since the 1.3 update it has been kicking off more than it did before, for no apparent reason, then is either very slow to re-engage or won't turn back on at all. If I quickly turn it off then on again most of the time it will start working hands free again. On the upside there a few roads close by where I'm on a "lower deck" of a road (another road above me) and it used to always kick off in that situation but does not anymore.

yes, at night sometimes I need to adjust my seat forward so the system can see my eyes better, or open my eyes wider

Yes those times and other times when it's just like, "nahhhh....not today...."

For me, BC turns off every time I drive under a highway toll reader. Not a toll booth or any kind of disruption in the road, just an overhead toll pass reader on one of the many toll roads around Northern VA (I-66, I-495). I left recorded feedback via the dash app for @Ford Motor Company as I assume this is a BC maps issue.
