Since the plastic there scratches so easily, place a PPF over the whole pillar with a hole for the door release button?

When I had my car done with PPF, that's exactly what I did (both B and C pillars). They look perfect.

Putting film there might be off-topic since it won't do much prevent stress fractures on what's becoming an obviously under-engineered component.. This will definitely be warranty work at the 10K point for me.

Why do you think it's a crack now? Did you read the thread?

Yup - read the whole thread. Why I think it's a crack:

1) It's new.
2) It's only on one door.
3) You can see in the pictures I took that the reflection is interrupted by it because the two sides of the crack are at slightly different angles. (This is why I took the picture with a reflection coming across it at an angle.)
4) I can feel it with my finger.
5) It stops at the lock icon where the plastic is slightly thicker and stopping crack propagation.
6) It looks like a crack.

Yeah, guessing they need to do a recall on it since it's so pervasive. I don't really want them replacing it with the same poor part though, so I'll wait a bit before having it replaced.

My post was in response to a comment about the black plastic scratching easily.
As for the cracks, many people have concluded that they aren't cracks. It appears to me that they are, but I don't have the problem so can't really say for sure.

It seems odd that all 4 would be cracked right after I got the car

I have the cracks on 3 out of 4 doors on one Mach E and 2 out of 4 on our other Mach E. I would definitely say these are cracks possibly due to a poor design and/or poor manufacturing. . .

Have you guys touched these panels in direct sun? Damn things are almost at the temperature of the sun, they get so damn hot. I wonder if that is what is causing the material to stress and crack.

Most defiantly a flaw given how many people have identical cracks. I'll have to look at mine in the morning.
