Everywhere but Europe and China, the car is programmed for a 5 digit code. Europe and China use the full 7 digits. However, if you would like to change your 5 digit code to the 7 digit code, you can do that in FORScan.

It's actually (for those of us in North America) the other way around. We can change it so that the 7 digit code can be used. The rest of the world is as you describe it. ??

Just to be clear, the factory code CANNOT be changed. You can ADD a code(s), but you cannot delete the factory code.

Correct, you cannot actually change digits of the factory code. However, you can change your 5 digit factory code to a 7 digit factory code which would in effect change the factory code if you wanted to prevent someone that had your factory code not to be able to use or know it anymore.

No, I did not get a folio with mine. That leather Ford Performance folio came with my GT500 and I purchased a second one for my Mach-E. They are supplied with some Ford Performance vehicles (GT350, GT500, Edge and Explorer ST). It is the perfect size to hold the 500+ page owners manual plus a couple of thin supplemental manuals and a couple of card slots I use for my AAA card and insurance/registration papers. At $80, they are not cheap. The $58 was for my '21 owners manual that the car did not come with. My '24 came with the owners manual.

Ah. I assume the '21 was your Job1 Premium that you needed to buy the printed manual for? My 2021 GT came with a printed manual and I can't find it on the window sticker as a paid option. ?‍?

Only my '21 GTPE (J2) came with a printed manual (and my '24) but not my '21 J1.

You can add your own personal 5-digit code. I don't believe that you can change the original. It will still work.
