Do me a favor and turn the lane centering on from the steering wheel, not the menu. Then try using it again.

I can't even get it to activate in the app.

That’s how I feel with it off and on lol. The car seems to want to hug the line next to the biggest vehicles, like it’s a challenge! So I’m pulling it back. But usually easier to push it closer to the car and then it will back off of it. Kinda counterintuitive. ?
So Mustangs are "Into pressure" animals. If you ever read "The horse whisperer" you will know what I mean.

I get where he's coming from, and he did say that his hands are on the wheel and eyes on the road. Seems he is indeed driving those miles.

The system is not sensitive enough for him, does the same to me as I tend to hold the wheel the same way he does. My touch is also light enough that it false alerts unnecessarily, and often.
Maybe for a long drive, … but five miles?

In my experience, ACC will slow down for cars that are also slowing down, and will go all the way down to a complete stop. But it still takes some initial motion of the object ahead for the car to latch on. Based on my limited testing, my ACC has not initiated for cars that were already stopped. Have you experienced something different?

People relying on ACC to detect stopped objects has likely caused a number of accidents and deaths.
Following up on this with an experience from today, which is in keeping with past behavior I've seen. I started paying more attention to it though, especially related speeds, since this came up.

Exit the interstate with a car in front of me, we both merged onto a local road with no immediate traffic;
There was a red light a bit ahead with cars already stopped;
My cruise was set to 50mph;
Car in front was slightly slower and I was following at 45;
Car if front changed lanes and my cruise started to speed up when he was clear;
Got up to 48 before my car recognized the cars stopped at the light;
My car made the stop as expected, no intervention needed.

Good to know. Sounds like I was wrong, and the ACC doesn’t need motion - it just needs adequate time and distance. Still not something I really trust.

So, you need a weight for your “5 miles of interstate commute?” Just me, but I’d probably just drive for those awfully long 5 minutes And just endure the fatigue.
You missed what I said.

I drive with my hand at 8 o'clock and it's rested on my knee, which means the car doesn't detect enough torque on the wheel. That's what the counter weight is for, and no I don't use it for just 5 miles, it's just an option for longer drives.

What I meant is not paying for BC for just 5 miles a day of usage.

I get the use of the weight. It was the 5 mile use case that had me scratching my head as to why. Carry on.

My BC subscription ends tomorrow. I am not about to spend $600 when Ford can't manage to send me any BC updates. With the help of a Ford tech online we found that the updates for my 2021 Premium, AWD, Ext. range Mach-E are scheduled as "SOON". Much like the timeline for my free NACS adapter.

Your BlueCruise service is coming to an end for Sparky and will expire on 3/13/2025 if you choose not to renew.

You and your 2021 Ford vehicle with its Ford BlueCruise Prep Package have been with BlueCruise since the beginning. As one of our early adopters, we're offering you a special one-time discounted rate on a BlueCruise Connected Service plan - three (3) more years of service for just $600.* If you don't want to take advantage of this 3-year offer, BlueCruise Connected Service plans are also available at the regular monthly or annual rate through the FordPass App or your Ford Account.
Same situation for me, except my BC subscription expires at the end of the year. I only did the 3yr $600 deal on my '21 AWD Premium because of the promise of 1.3.

I have had blue cruise for almost 3.5 years, whenever I do drive on highways I do use it, however I do not plan to pay for it, when it expires. I just don't drive often enough to justify the expense

I just renewed mine for 1 year FREE through the app. But won't renew after that if they are charging for it.

This is the correct answer. While Ford struggles to send the smallest of updates to its customers, my Rivian got a huge update yesterday. Im enjoying their enhanced highway assist today and the "go chime."
My R1s Got it yesterday. I have not driven the car since. Previously however BC was much better than the RIVIAN driver+.

When I bought my 2022 MachE, it came with 3 years of BC and the fine print mentioned you could renew for $200 per year after that.

I swapped to a 2023 model and it came with only 90-day trial and then charged me $800 to renew for 1 year which I did pay.

Now I am seeing the renewal cost is $500 per year?

Seems like Ford has no idea what to charge. You think they would want to maximize the number of subscribers now to get more data to improve it. But nope.

$200 per year I am definitely in.
$300 probably still in.
$400-600 is a hard maybe.
$600+ I'm out from now on.

My current sub is up in a few months and I turned off auto renew. I'm not sure I will re-sub or not. It's great but basically only covers interstates around me which I use, but not a ton.
