Keep in mind Ford does OTA roll outs for a limited time. Then they're off for months.
I guess it is “damned if I do and damned if I don’t. “ But thanks for the information. I’m going out of town for a couple of weeks. I wonder if I dare wait until I get home to turn the OTA updates back on again or if I should just do it now.

Mike, I’m trying to keep these OTA issues straight in my mind. By bricking the car, are we talking about 12v drain, or lock out, or both, or neither, some other fault? I’m curious, what persuades you this ECG is the fix? Thanks
This relates to '23 and '24 models with lockouts as a result of a previous OTA for the gateway module. This is the corrective action, either by your car receiving OTA ECG-24.2.4.10.2 or getting somebody with FDRS to update your gateway to the "-FAT" software revision.

If you're gone, leave a window cracked and lock it up (if in a garage). Coat hanger to get in through the window if it does happen to lock out. Sadly the 1 week on 11 weeks off schedule (this is my feelings not scientific proven facts) is what causes a lot of annoyance with features and fixes with this car.

Thanks. My impression is the 12v drain issue may affect all model years and is unrelated to the lockout issue. Do you know if that is correct?

Is the -FAT update the first on this list?

Does anyone have an actual confirmation (TSB/SSM/inside knowldge) that this update is actually the resolution to the lock out issue? I'd hate to jump on this update only to cause a lock-out condition, because we all thought that this must be the fix.

When software module revisions are discussed (with the exception of the APIM) the F188 DID is used as the reference designation for the revision. So most of us just refer to the last three characters to denote what update we’re talking about. And the -FAT is the first file in that list.

Nice! I just power cycled my car and it immediately started downloading the update and installed even though I have it setup to do updates at 1am. I didn't have to push the "update now" button.

Irrelevant to some in the world; In Australia & New Zealand there are NO OTAs (citing cyber-security concerns), ie, not implemented. Interested to hear if this may be the same in other markets, eg, Sweden or the UK.

There. That’s your confirmation.
Is this what my car will be doing after the update? It's pretty good at glitchy behavior even before :D.

It *could* be the issue that was discussed in the CSP 24P16 RCCM reset bulletin, but that was only 23.5 models. But that requires them to test the 12V battery and replace it if necessary and then run a self-test using FDRS. That's all.

Are the MMEs there made in China? I heard that somewhere.
