Makes sense. Is there any indication on either display that you are in a BC enabled area? Or do you have to turn on cruise control, lane keep assist, and lane centering, and then see if it works?
You're confusing terms.

No, there is no map that exists that tells you that you are on a handsfree BlueCruise road. It was promised for May 2022...

You can turn on cruise (you already have the other options on), and have hands-on assisted driving, the car will stay between the lines, take turns, etc. You just keep your hands on the wheel and let it steer.

When you get on a divided highway that is handsfree, the instrument panel will tell you that you can remove your hands from the wheel. As you approach areas where you need to put your hands back on (i.e. big curve in the road), it will tell you.

You get a pop up on the small screen saying blue cruise can be activated. Then when you hit the cruise control button blue cruise will automatically start. I only started getting those pop ups like a week ago and have only tried BC a couple times...

The lane keeping system icon, to the left of the odometer, is blue while in hands free mode.

Also, the whole instrument cluster becomes blue.

Check out Ford's how to video on this, linked from our official owner's resources page:

That notification can be turned on or off. It got annoying every time I got on the highway for a short trip, so I turned it off.

I read on this forum that a buyer was bummed that the powered seats didn't go up and down. So I became bummed about it. A year later I discovered that the power seat goes up and down. Moral of the story, don't believe what you read here.

They were probably talking about the front and rear of the seat going up and down independently so that the angle can be adjusted. That's what's missing from the MME.

When you're in cruise, the vehicle accelerates and decelerates outside of 1PD. If you accelerate manually, and then come off the pedal, it should not be in 1PD mode. If you tap the brake pedal, it will then not be in cruise mode, and 1PD will work.
Is this accurate? I know when I’m using BC, say set at 72, then hit the go pedal to increase to 76, remove my foot from the pedal, the car definitely slows down. I guess I never noticed if it slowed at the same rate as 1PD or just coasted back to the set speed. Hummmmmm, gonna try this on my way home from work today. I think it slows down the same as 1PD, but not 100% sure sitting here at my desk.

Given that 1PD is disabled with cruise, it should slow down as it is designed to when you are driving faster than the cruise is set for.

Modern vehicles don't just coast to slow down if you're exceeding the speed limit.

Thanks for that - I understand how to turn it on, I just don't know when I can turn it on.

Do I have to wait for the notification to pop up and hit the cruise control button while it's showing? Do I have to turn everything on and just see if it goes into BC? Or is there an indicator somewhere that tells me "Hey, you're in a BC-approved area, you can turn it on whenever you want"?

What Rick said.

You’ll also notice that when you’re in cruise control, the 1PD icon disappears. If you cancel cruise, the 1PD icon returns.

Your lanekeeping icon |*| thing will be green in a non-BlueCruise area and blue in a BlueCruise area….or at least, so I’ve read. I STILL DON’T HAVE BLUECRUISE ON MY JOB 1.5, not that I’m bitter or anything. :)

It took me a few days to find out you could turn on calm screen by holding the volume wheel. Before that I had been (dangerously) going through the menus to turn it on. I felt really silly after learning the easy way
This was a software update some time ago.

We were futzing around this morning with the not-so-convenient vent controls, and noticed they put a louvre, like the fake vent on the passenger side, behind the screen, which seems superfluous at best.

Then we noticed that behind the bottom part of the screen there's an inset panel that has a ridge almost like a little grab handle. IT kind of feels like a stop for a tilting screen, but the screen doesn't tilt (or does it?). Any idea what that's all about, or what's behind that panel? It could make an excellent little hidey hole, were one so inclined.

I knew they were there, but I finally found a use for the very high, short, and small cubby pocket in the larger driver’s door cubby at the very end nearest the passenger door. This is a perfectly sized space to put a stack of individually wrapped glasses wipes.
Took me almost a year to realize those were there.
