I do not find it unreasonable to expect that basic functions of the vehicle (HV charging, LV Battery, braking, etc) should function well from day one, and be handled expeditiously by Ford if not. From what I am reading here, quick resolutions are not happening in every case, and rather than criticize those with problems, I am grateful that I am not experiencing those issues. I am optimistic that solutions will be forthcoming, hopefully soon.

Regarding other reported concerns/defects/"nitpicks", everyone here probably has a different assortment, with the most important to them likely being the issues that they experience directly. The MME is probably not much different than many past new vehicle launches, but I think everything is amplified on the forum. This cuts both ways. What someone else thinks is a critical problem may be trivial to me, but I have also learned an incredible amount about both the MME and the buying process from the forum, for which I am very thankful to the folks who took the time to post. If there are posts/threads I find to be hyperbolic or unreasonable, I can easily ignore them. The only ones that annoy me are by people looking to pick a fight, but even those posts can be ignored, so really it's up to me. The forum pretty much exists to allow people to discuss the car.

Thanks to all for posting your experiences, good and bad, and for those with longstanding unsolved problems preventing you from enjoying your Mach E, I hope you receive a resolution soon. It seems to me that "moving on" from a car would be very difficult if you've already purchased it.
My MME is fine, though sync 4 reboots itself periodically. I am aware that it wasn’t made by Apple, so not suprised. Most of the complaints are valid, though one guy complained when he tried to drive through snow that a Jeep might not make it through. People also complain that there are sounds. Gosh!

I love my new car, but I definitely use this site to point out the flaws. Some of these are serious problems. Some of them are nits that aren’t that big of a deal but also shouldn’t exist in such a premium vehicle.

The most serious issue I’ve got is the public charging. It is simply terrible and makes the car very risky for road trips. Causes a great deal of anxiety never knowing if the charger you drive to will work. I don’t want to subject family members to this so I won’t be taking this on family road trips for the foreseeable future.

Being unable to permanently disable the alarm interior motion sensors is also a major headache and especially annoying because it seems like such a simple software bug to fix.

Not being able to reliably use FordPass for much of anything, including public charging sessions is likewise very annoying.

The rest of the software bugs are nuisances I can live with but should be fixed for such an expensive car.

The buzzy driver screen again should be fixed. If Ford would just acknowledge that this is a problem, but it will take a while to sort out the screen supply issues, I’d be happy to wait. But Ford won’t even acknowledge it.

Overall, if Ford had a dedicated Mach E Help Desk where we could raise these issues, that would go a loooooong way. One reason we post stuff here is because there’s no good way to contact Ford. The front-line CSRs are polite but totally worthless.

If I could do it over again, I’d still buy my car now because I nabbed a gorgeous grabber blue first edition at x-plan price. Those aren’t going to be available much longer. But otherwise I’d advise people to wait on your orders and hope some of this crap gets ironed out.

I agree , especially with the 240v charging issue, they need to have a dedicated ev hotline. If nothing else to learn from us and our comments questions and concerns as the first batch as they release more
Ev in the future.

Is it me or are people nitpicking on every detail of the delivered cars...if you look at a new car this way you are never going to enjoy the experience of a spectaculair new car. Furthermore if you don't want this car, fine, move on to a solution and stop posting close-ups from your problems, we can't help you...go to Ford or the dealer?

Pff sorry if I offended anybody but had tot get this out my head.
I've certainly never had a new car with this many issues that deprive me of enjoyment of my new car... or I'd be out driving it and not on here. My S550 I had *zero* things to complain about, I was barely on the forums because I was out driving.

So a bit of perspective on that I think is needed - nobody would spend their time "nitpicking" - just because some folks think it's OK that the screens buzz, or that the ride is giving some owners nausea, or that some owners can't connect to FordPass, or that Plug&Charge doesn't work for some owners, etc. doesn't mean those impacted owners need to agree to just suck it up and suffer in silence. We're here to support each other.

I don’t have my car yet. I can handle some quirky issues until Ford figures them out but I need to be able to trust my cAr. Is it reliable? Will it get me where I and my daughters need to go? Will I be able to charge it reliably? These are the concerns I have although I’m still very much excited about getting my MME.

I nitpicked for the first 3 days then realized it was dumb and have been enjoying it ever since. There are only a few things that really bug me...and at that it isn't very often I even think about them bugging me! I also think all but the IPC buzz are software issues that can be fixed in the next year.

I think a few people have had truly bad experiences, but most of us are just growing pains of being on the bleeding edge of new Ford tech.

The answers to your questions are “yes” if you’re driving within range of home charging. If you have to rely upon public charging, the answers are “maybe.”

Do you want more excitement in your life? Wondering whether that public charger will work - the one you need to work - with your daughters in tow, certainly adds some “excitement.”

That's a bit of an extreme scenario, don't you think? The one you need to work?. That implies taking the SOC down near 0. Not to mention that MME roadside will tow the vehicle to a charger if you find yourself stranded.

Well, I think for the most part I can charge at home. My office is within 15 miles so no commute. I worry about other issues such as the software and the weird messages like pull over now! My daughters would also be thoroughly pissed if we got stuck somewhere!

The forums are not usually representative of the real situation. When people have problems they need to vent out their frustration, sometimes overdramatically to add more weight to it. There are always trolls also. Most of those who are happy don't write posts describing how everything is fine with their cars, so the impression is that there are more problems than there are in reality.

Consider what you just said. Do you really think towing to another charger is an acceptable fallback? With kids? Any of you use roadside assistance yet? I can virtually guarantee you that like all other roadside assistance, a tow will be at least a two-hour process.

As for “needing” a charger to work, what I was trying to say is that on road trips, when you need to get somewhere, you need to freaking charge. And if a charger doesn’t work, you need to keep driving to others until you find one that does. This past Sunday I had to drive to THREE until I found one that worked, and the third one required a different, longer route home. All of this with my son along for the ride. I would never want anybody, certainly another parent, to be in this situation.

I love my MME, but the public charging is currently a total crapshoot and we do other prospective buyers a disservice by downplaying the risk and possible inconvenience.
