Farley: NACS Adapter Testing

Yes, a perfect gesture for someone like me who preordered the car, got the first MME off the lot in my city, vouched for this experience at nearly every opportunity, has no CCS superchargers between the two largest cities in his state, but has been declined entry into EA since June of 2021.

Piss right the hell off. Respectively.

??? I had no idea that comment would strike a nerve! I'm not even in EAP, for the record. I just think companies should reward people who take their own personal time to test and provide feedback. Ford should probably buy Mach-Lee a '24 Mach-E Rally edition as payment for all the time he puts into testing and providing education and feedback.

But you do bring up a good point - perhaps there are other criteria Ford could use to reward loyal / early adopters. Also, now that I think about it, I'm not sure anyone in EAP is really ever asked to give feedback, so it's not really operating like a true beta program.

I'm convinced, consider my suggestion to ship adapters first to EAP members withdrawn!

In the meantime, Tesla has screwed up their App so that I can no longer use the Magic Docks. The App used to say "Charge your non-Tesla", now it says "Charge Your EV". Went to a Magic Dock today and it leaves the dock in the pedestal when I try to charge. Tried two pedestals, exact same result. They must think I bought a Tesla. When I used these chargers previously, I could hear the locking mechanism, then push up and the dock would pop out with the NACs connector.

I think Tesla made recent changes to the Magic Dock so that you don't release it via the app. You have to push up and then pull down....I believe. There was a Out of Spec podcast about this I believe.

I think Tesla made recent changes to the Magic Dock so that you don't release it via the app. You have to push up and then pull down....I believe. There was a Out of Spec podcast about this I believe.

You now hold the button on the NACS handle for 2 seconds to lock it to the MagicDock first.

There is a different way to unlock them now. You gotta press the red button and hold for two seconds then push in then slide the whole thing out

I think I saw that, I thought they held the button on the handle for a few seconds first then pulled it out.

If he gave you a date and they missed it you'd be up in arms. They can't win.

Sure they can win. Give a date, and stick to it. If they do end up missing the date, provide a clear reason why along with a revised timeline. It would be better than the endless stream of "coming very soon" we've been getting.
