Hey! Is that one dose Mustang thingemmies you have there? Not sure what makese think that ??????

It’s that duck thing, if it sounds like a duck, and it smells like a duck, and it quacks like a duck, and it looks like a duck…………..it’s a Mustang?
Well……. That “looks like, sounds like,” argument actually would be against it being a Mustang.

Someone needs to tell Farley that a counter fitter has been successfully supplying dealerships with SUV type cars carrying phony Ford Mustang brand symbols and names. This may account for our experience of Ford saying they don't know how to fix our cars!

Let's face it. The only reason the original Mustang was called a Mustang instead of being an updated Falcon was marketing.

It's an auto BUSINESS folks. Their job is to make money off us.
While I agree with most of your statement, there is one big difference in your example from the Mach E. The Mustang name was new for Ford and not taken from another vehicle already on the market. I wish Ford had chosen another name or dropped the ICE Mustang in favor of an EV. In my opinion they watered down what they already had, the Mustang, and gave the Mach E a bastard identity. ?

And a Bronco "Sport" isn't a real Bronco.

Thes opinions and $2.95 will get you a "Tall" coffee at Starbucks -- which is their shortest coffee.
It is indeed real but it is not a Bronco, it is a Bronco Sport. You see the Sport name is not a trim level, it is the name of the vehicle, Bronco Sport, this helps differentiate the vehicle.

This is the same for the Mach E, the Mach E is not a trim level but the name of the vehicle.

So, there is the Mustang and the Mustang Mach E. In my opinion the Mach E name is like a disclaimer just like the Sport name on Bronco.

Well, a couple of statements taken out of context settles it, then.

I guess I should grind off all of the Mustang emblems all over my Mustang...er... It's-Definitely-Not-A-Mustang Mustang Mach-E.

Really, I think instead I should just take my Mustang out for a wash.

Wait, what, are those photos of a “Mustang” or a “Mustang Mach E”? ?

Ah…by what name to call the car..?

My wife, with zero malice or sarcasm, has in her mind turned the “E” around and usually calls the car a Mach “3”. I think it’s kind of cute and why bother to pedantically, or otherwise, point out and ‘correct’ the terminology. It’s not as if it really matters what name Ford or any of us put on the car.

At the end of the day it’s a stunningly good looking car complete with mid century modern Danish design inspired dash and interior, and in my experience thus far it’s also a great car that makes me smile and love to drive it. I haven’t liked a car as much as this one, or had this much fun with one, in a very long time … ?. And that, my friends, is what it’s really all about.

Bravo Ford for bringing us the electric pony car, Mustang Mach e, aka Mach 3 in my house?

Car Scoops interprets the quote like the following, and I think we can assume that it’s a reasonable explanation:

«While it wasn’t clarified in the interview, we have to assume Farley was referring to the standard Mustang coupe and convertible models.»

Those body forms won’t have a BE variant.

I agree with you Petter.

People also have to remember where and to whom Farley was speaking. He was at the Goodwood Members Meeting celebrating, among other things, Mustang’s 60th birthday. Clearly he’s not going to say the traditional ICE Mustang is all but buried and forgotten.

He was addressing a specific audience.
He was celebrating the icon itself. He was putting to rest any fear that the traditional pony car that has been owned and loved by many since the New York World’s fair of 1964 is going to be put out to pasture. I think very few on this forum would want to see that happen either. Farley was not confused about the existence and name of the MME, nor was he saying it was going to be killed off.

Which generation? ???
I don’t think people have recognized how clever this comment is.

Even Wikipedia knows to put it in its own category-
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Mustang

“Although it shares the Mustang name and badge, this vehicle is not counted among the Mustang's seven generations, as it is a separate model produced alongside the existing two-door Mustang rather than being a chronological successor to it, and is designed around a separate vehicle platform.[99]

Thank you, it amazes me people can’t see a difference in the name Mustang and Mustang Mach E.

I would like to see a two door Mustang-e, the same coupe as the ICE platform, but with two electric motors so it would be AWD, performance tuned and 700+ HP. If such beast was available I’d supplement my fun with yet more fun. Can’t do ICE: the environment…

Very understandable, since Mach 3 actually means something. Unlike Mach-E.
