FDRS - PCM reprogramming has failed

Hi there, I was trying to update my 22 Mach-E Premium with FDRS and while trying to update PCM module it reprogramming failed, now I am stuck. How I can fix that?


I am using TOPDON interface cable and Clore Automotive 100A for on-demand power supply.

Update: I was able to install all updates and my Mach e is back to live.

1) My first mistake, I forgot to start the power supply mode in Clore.

2) After updating the TOPDON's Ford driver everything went smoothly in FDRS and I was able to install all the available updates.

Another thing, I forgot to start the power supply. But not sure if that caused this problem, the first update I tried went smoothly.

Some updates just flat out won't work with knock off adapters. I'd suggest not updating your car with cheap adapters as they usually end up causing more issues.

It's the cable. What color is the PCM in FDRS now? Is the car drivaable?

That TopDon thing causes more problems than a toxic baby-momma. They are garbage.

Well, if you want to avoid problems, I would quit while you're ahead. I highly recommend you do not even try to update the IPMA, PSCM or CMR with it.

It worked fine after updating the cable software and ford driver, I was able to install all the updates smoothly.

There are several people on here, myself included, that started with a knockoff adapter. It works okay until it doesn't. There are also some that were sending corrupted data back to Ford's database that can cause you issues later down the road. It is not worth the risk to save a few bucks.

Reset PCM. Release 12 v. battery sockets and try again. Remember to fit external power supply.

It happens the same to me when I programmed the IPMA.
