With pedestrian warning speakers, it'd be really nice if Ford could enable them to emit ultrasonic noise while the car is parked to deter rodents from getting into the car's underbody.

Or anywhere in the vicinity

Nice idea. I bought an aftermarket one on Amazon but haven’t installed it yet, I wanted to be sure my 12V battery issues were behind me first.

Do your research. My experience is that these things don't work.

while I get why you'd want this, recent discussion elsewhere on this forum has suggested that these things (which I own some of, so I've been there too) don't actually work - the rodents quickly acclimate and ignore them.

Since I put an aftermarket unit under the hood of my Outback, I haven't had any visitors leaving presents of snail shells and pellets all over. Chemical repellent didn't seem to do anything. Maybe it's coincidental or maybe not.

The speakers on the MME are potentially more powerful than the AA-battery powered ones so maybe that might make a difference? I dunno, seems like it's worth asking for.

Yeah, it's hard to say without a non-protected car parked next to it for comparison.
How long have you been using it? It seemed to me that they grew accustomed to it after a few weeks.
I ended up using mothballs to protect my stored vehicles. The problem with that it they end up smelling like my grandma's closet! ?

Mothballs may be a strong carcinogen. Looking for a safer alternative, as a lot of my sweaters now have holes in them :(

"Grandma's Closet" was the name of my senior-citizen-focused "Veronica's Closet"-themed drag show. It was not popular.

I bought some of those peppermint pouches on Amazon. While I await Marlin’s return I have installed the one on our Leaf.
