I use PaaK primarily. Yeah, my doors lag to open a lot... sometimes I use the keypad to unlock... but I still don't carry a key and I've never gotten so frustrated that I had to.
I used to use my PAAK all the time as well. Unfortunately, my lady doesn't have the same patience so I pretty keep my fob with me unless I am driving solo.

@Mirak

This is why we can’t have nice threads, y’all shit all over them. Please man. We get it. What was the point of chiming in here?

@Jim Glass posted a thread appreciating his car - and boom. Sigh.
I said ā€œYour car has problems. They're just not problems for you. ;)ā€ I also said ā€œHe doesn’t have to care about any of these problems. I’m glad he loves his ride. I love mine, too. But those issues are there.ā€

I have absolutely no issue with people loving their Mach E’s (I do) or not caring / noticing certain problems.

But I am an advocate for perfecting my Mach E, or getting it as close to perfect as possible - especially when the vast majority of things on my list have been requested for the better part of two years and could be easily fixed with one software update.

This board is my primary form of advocacy, and I’m not alone. Because I know Ford folks read it.

So when someone starts a thread to say ā€œThere are no other problems, nil, zero, noneā€ - I’m going to politely add, with a wink, that there are. And then I’ll add a bunch of memes because memes make everything better.

Your car has problems. They're just not problems for you. ;)
  • You still cannot permanently disable alarm interior motion sensors, even though there is a setting to do just that. Ford actually issued a SSM helpfully explaining that toggling this setting lasts for exactly one whole key cycle.
  • The car reverts to Guest profile every time you remote start, for absolutely no logical reason.
  • When you tap ā€œmax defrostā€ once, it turns on. When you tap that button a second time, instead of turning off, the HVAC goes to Auto Medium.
  • Ford still has not enabled electronic frunk access for your car, despite it having the same frunk latch actuator as everyone else.
  • You have to tap into Settings to open the Trunk from inside the car.
  • You have to tap a clipart house icon to open... the app tray.
  • Your radio presets still occasionally disappear.
  • PAAK still doesn't work as reliably as the fob.
Thank you for this list. I thought it was just my car that lost all the radio presets!

My FE also has >33k miles; I gave up on the PAAK long ago. The other items it would be nice to have but I've accepted having a 1st gen car these things occur.

My Lighting is coming up on 1 year in a week or so with almost 16k miles.

Only real issue I wish they would fix on both the MME and Lightning is my loss of radio presents after an OTA update.

It is only a problem if it affects you. I have 2021 premium AWD ER with no problems to me except a occasional left rear door rattle that no one can seem to "reproduce/diagnose/fix". Never use Paak as key, never use app very much. We just use car as/like a regular car and still loving it after 28K miles and 2 years. Battery still gets us over 300 miles in warm weather, 270 or so in winter time.

Love the car. Got it 12/21. My main gripe is that my iphone-14 (and had the same w/my previous iphone-7) doesn't always connect to Apple Car Play. It's set as a PAAK, but even plugging the USB cable not always work. Frustrating.
The smooth, seamless acceleration of my GT overrides all the quirks.

I'm at a bit over 28,000 miles and still wish the ride was more comfortable (swapping the rear shocks to the Konis helped a bit) and I have been having an issue lately with the MME not charging when I plug it in, unless I try it like 3-4 times after it notifies me that my scheduled charge did not begin in the app. Lots of the other issues listed are things that I have noticed, but are mostly things I don't mind living with. By and large, I still love my MME FE, but I definitely prefer my F-150 Lightning.

My FE Select has 34,000 and counting. Definitely improved when i went back to the fob. For me, the new interface completed eliminated all of my Carplay/connection issues. Love this car and can't wait for my '23 Premium to arrive in July.

My car is technically not a first edition, but it was manufactured in February 21 and delivered in early April 21. I can say since the HVBJB failure repair was completed the car has been trouble free.

Now it did have a bunch of issues in the beginning but nothing that made me give up on the car. Openly I expected to have problems with a early build first real EV from ford and a new platform

Wow, Thought I liked the car. Never realized how wrong I was.?

Same here. About same millage!

My debate now is whether to keep this through the end of the options program... or trade it in for a new one... because first gen cars long term are always first gen cars.... (not to mention the charging standards quickly coming)
60k and happy, will probably keep it and run it into the ground?

First world problems?

I never even knew I even had any of these problems which aren’t problems to me so your point is good & well put?

You’re correct but it’s worth noting that + years I’m still getting better than the advertised range in 2021. It my first EV, bought on a cancellation. My 46th vehicle including 8 MBs ( 1 Gwagen), 3 Audis, 3 BMWs, 4 Miatae, a Peugeot, 2 Renaults, 2 VWs, 2 Fords, 2 Chevys, Isuzu, Porsche, Suzuki. And so on. Needless to say The MME has required the least maintenance.
You missed having a Saab 9000 Turbo, my favorite car until the MME GT, which I appropriately named ā€œGran SeƱorā€ (Great Gentleman )
