Andy, did you get rid of the OG machncheese? If so, may I ask what were your deciding factors?

Maybe this new imposter @MachNCheese wants to buy my vanity plates? I do have California MACHCHZ plates that are coming off my car next week!

OG Mach N Cheese is being taken away by Driveway.com next week....... Since you asked:

It's my belief that the contactors and battery powertrain and thermal management strategy of the Mach-E (especially the GTPE) are fundamentally under-engineered, and that we're still seeing people have HVBJB failures if they drive the car in anywhere near a spirited manner.

My hood latch failed a couple of months ago, and I just found it frustrating and outrageous that my car was down for another week with the failure of a basic part of a car. My hood fails? in a modern new car?

In addition, my hatch is starting to malfunction -- with more frequency (I think) it sometimes doesn't close or open fully. I'm really not interested in another adventure with a Ford dealer. It's clear Ford has a problem but has no idea how to solve it.

In short, I'm sorry, but this car has been the most unreliable car I've ever owned in such a short amount of miles, and Ford and its dealers do not treat customers well enough to make up for such poor initial and basic engineering rigor and quality.

I don't trust it.

I'm working on a goodbye video, along with a video on my first road trip with my new ride ..... nicknamed Kimchi! I just gotta say, there's no such thing as a perfect car, but I think this is a superior product in the ways that count to me: the electric powertrain, driving dynamics, and reliability.

Well that sucks but I’m not sure the Kia dealer is gonna be much better, reading about people leaving their cars for a month for the Hyundai and Kia ICCU issue, but hopefully you don’t run into that. Definitely gonna miss Mach n cheese! Hope you enjoy your new car!

If I felt like the changeover to the ev6 was financially viable for me I'd be tempted to do the same. Godspeed.

ICCU failures appear to be quite rare in comparison, and limited to the early build cars.

I picked this up as a dealer demo (sold new) with about 500 mi on a lease for $51k. Made it a much easier decision.

I’m bummed about Mach N Cheeze (the car), and Andy leaving, but also excited about Kimchi.

If I had bought on Options originally, I would have been doing exactly as Andy is. But, I have a different path, and I have a dealer that I (mostly) trust. I’m gonna drive my MME until it won’t go no mo.

The turn signals stalks on the MME seem decent to me. On the Model 3 they seemed cheap.

I stroke the head from time to time. Even after some years of practice, It doesn't soften up. I wonder if anyone's tried some sort of protective "sleeve" like a silicone sock?

Oh, Andy. We hardly knew ye. Sad to see you move on, but you know what’s best for you. You and your videos were very helpful to me and many others in this forum.

Actually several of us have talked about the rough end on the turn signal stalk a few times here. This is just one:

https://www.macheforum.com/site/threads/steering-wheel-buttons-wear.13320/page-2#post-325829

I know some members like myself have lightly sanded the end to make it smooth.
Update: I used a small file to gently sand off the edges. It's fine now. There is some odd play between the back side of the plastic and the front where it snaps together like the mold is a bit off.

Anyways I think we can ... file this topic away. ? Yeeeeaaaaahhhh!
