Haha, let me know what happens ??
Arrived on the good ship Amazon today.

Stuck one in place, don’t look too bad - see attached piccy.

My ‘phone, an iPhone 14 ProMax, was fully charged so put wifey’s iPhone 11 on the mat and in about 30 mins driving had charged from 62% to 78% and was fairly warm.

That’s more than mine has ever charged without this charge ring - only ever barely held its charge and got so hot until IOS shut down ‘phone to cool down!

Be interesting to test mine on there.

Anybody reckon I’d be able to stick a second ring on top of first?

One is not quite as thick as the camera surround on the genuine Apple case so a second may bring level high enough to either meet the ‘phone or become closer to it.

Congratulations ?

Sounds like your problem is solved too! ??

I too tried my GF’s iphone 16 pro (no case) on a 40 min drive and it was completely normal and charged the whole time.

I believe you have an issue with the old wireless chargers, ford did replace them if I remember correctly( someone please confirm)

Reserving judgement until I’m out on the road working when I need a ’phone charge.

Nice, please share the purchase link
Search for AOSK on Amazon. They have a ton of cool products.

I’m thinking about trying one of these on that mat. I’m planning on cutting a hole in the mat to make it flush with the mat.
The bad thing is the magnet doesn’t have a dimensions on the purchase page.

Many of us prefer to avoid plugging whenever possible as it avoids wear on the plug.
This is true.

I rarely need to recharge the iPhone when I’m out even on one of those looooooooong day trips because its battery’s Pretty good but when I do I have just plugged in in the past because I accepted the wireless charger is no good for anything!

I do find I need to plug ‘phone in more often than just when the ‘phone needs a charge.

Getting in & out the car without locking & unlocking again, or just powering off car and turning it back on without getting out the car seems to bamboozle the iPhone and/or Apple CarPlay and/or the car’s infotainment centre leaving me without sound or speech through the mike during a call or dictation of messages.

I-T?

S-H-I-T more like!

Hey everyone,

I’m aware that there are solutions to fix the wireless charging issue on our Mach-Es ranging from 3D print holders with a magsafe charger to fully built TWARPS

While the solutions, like TWARPS, were quite expensive, costing around $100 or too specifically custom that could be not as easy.

However, I’ve come up with a more affordable and pretty easy solution for $10 (2 magnet sets for $10). Simply attach the magsafe magnets to the rubber mat, and voila! The wireless charging issue is resolved.

Amazon Links:
2- Piece Set: https://a.co/d/ihT6FA0
3-Piece Set: https://a.co/d/52yX9fF

Here’s how it turned out for me! I had some plastic holders from a different MagSafe magnets set that I used to make it look aesthetically pleasing, but it’s completely unnecessary, if you don’t wanna do it.

Solution. I’ve got mine in my Amazon queue. @ThunderClap Do you need to put one on the underside of the mat or just on the top?

Just on the top.

Follow this:
Stick the magnets to the phone with the protective covers, look for a good spot where it charges, let it charge for 10 min straight.
Then peel off the sticker on the back and still to the mat on the spot.

Image pinched off a Google search to save me having to go outside as the weather is bleak here.
It looks like the pad design was ‘fixed’ (read altered) at some point, and that the ford ‘engineers’ couldn’t find a suitable solution to the alignment or camera bump. Well done for showing them up.

Can I ask if your arrangement of magnets is just on the upside of the OEM charging mat, and also if this raises the phone high enough to compensate for the camera bump? My concern was the distance from the charging coil as the charging mat, magnets, camera bump, and case all add up. What did you use for the cover to make it look tidy?

Thanks
I just stuck mine here as a guess and it worked on wifey’s ’phone…….

Ace, that seems like the obvious location. I have Ford applying my updates, including the wireless charger update, next week and so I’ll give it a try afterwards.

Thanks

Cool, but does this solve the charger's biggest problem: cooking your phone?

Tried both the old and the new charging mats....still cooks phones more than it charges them.

isn't this just a function of wireless charging? It is an inefficient form of charging.

As someone else said on here, and I agree with. For short drives I use wireless CarPlay and only put it on the charge side if it needs it. For longer drives, I used the USB plug for CarPlay and then charge via that form.

Along with this, most of the things people complain about on this form are easily resolved but perhaps just not the way they want it to be resolved.
