My email . . .

Hi everyone,

I am sure you are being inundated since some of the Mach E’s greatest fans and customers got this email address.

I am just going to give you a couple of suggestions:

  • Do whatever you can to BE competitive with the other vehicles in this class in the marketplace (MY anyone?). I think the ME is superior, but money talks. Some blend of Cash, interest rate, whatever to bring the monthly cost down from the ridiculous numbers we are seeing now in comparison.
  • Get this information OUT to reservation holders ASAP along with their build date!

I’ve seen a lot of people talking about jumping ship to the ID4 and the MY. We have been waiting over 10 months and are close - close our deals ASAP!

Thank you,

Here are the Xplan, and A/Z plan. The a/z plan with incentives is about 3,000 dollars off almost.

Do you know if Ford has an Active Duty Military discount program, and if so, would it apply to this Mach-E?
There is a Military Appreciation program. You'd have to check with the dealer at the time of delivery for applicable incentives.

Right now I don't see the Mach-E listed, but the 2020 Mustang, Mustang GT and Mustang Bullitt is listed, so maybe the program will be updated once deliveries start.

@trutolife27 posted a graphic which noted Mach-E was excluded. I’d be willing to be pleasantly surprised though.

One thing I will say is that the X-plan is somewhat underwhelming on this vehicle, all things considered. It does make me wonder how much profit there actually is in this vehicle, though.

Probably very little profit, if any. Yet. They claimed it's profitable from day 1 but I suspect it's relatively scant for now until they can produce higher volume and leverage economy of scale.

Actually I find X-Plan to be great for this vehicle, simply because there's just no other discounts. On other vehicles, one can usually negotiate thousands off, but not the MME. The ability to get ANY discount makes X-Plan valuable here.

But I get what you're saying -- the actual $$$ discount is small relative to MSRP compared to the thousands off MSRP another model might get.

oh to be sure I'm going to use my "you work for a partner so you get X-Plan" discount - I'm not that stupid. Just wish it was more.

That said, I won't miss the trip into the finance office to do the "negotiation" because that's never been a skill I particularly have had and I always, always have felt like I'm getting screwed.

("See, Tesla!" there, in before someone else says it)

Well, I can tell you this. The Mache e was looked at to be produced in three different places. At that time it was not called the Mache of course, but an electric crossover vehicle TBD.

Ford looked at Dearborn where the new f-150 electric is being built.
Also, Ford looked at making the Mache over in china.
Finally, the decision was made to us the wide-open plant in Mexico, Cuautitlan assembly.

But as electric vehicles and different ones are made. Ford said they might bring the Mache back to America to build. As the cost to build go down.

The cost for a totally new platform vehicle, not a style or trim change, is very expensive. Most manufacturers don't turn a profit on new vehicles for a few years. That is why you're more likely to see facelifts and small changes year over year than all new.

As Elon Musk announced, without the model y sharing 70% plus of the same parts of the model 3. The cost of the model y would have been around 9.000 dollars more to build and take another 2 years to hit the market.

The fact that A/Z/D plans are only 4% off MSRP says a lot. The margin on the car can't be very much right now. I think it makes sense that they're selling it as close to cost as possible with the expectation that the margins will rise as the technology costs go down.
