FordPass 5.0 Released

I find if I reboot my phone Android 14 most things in 5.0 work like location but they stop working and have to be rebooted again. Not sure why. I tried a lot of different app settings but nothing but a reboot gives me the most functionality for a while.

Android 15 is having issues with maps also.

While you may be able to attribute some to design. If you took a new person and handed them V5 they wouldn’t post that a bunch of features that are not missing are gone.

Things there are actually missing:

1. Trip planner is gone.
2. EA credit status is gone.
3. Android 14 might be bugging maps. Or people didn’t agree to Google maps services. But I’m going to assume if you use Android, you’re not afraid of using Google maps. (Probably a poor assumption)

Remote start, vin, tire pressure, odometer, plug and charge, etc. on the other hand are all still there.

Set target charge level to 90. Previously 80. Later I see it changed on own to 50. Changed back to 90 and it charged to 100 and target charge level changed on own to 70.

None of the maps functions open, a few other items. I am also on the beta 5.0 so I can switch back to the original app also.

The old app had a feature where you could document service that an owner completed such as rotating tires or replacing cabin filter. That feature is no longer available. I am able to view service that I have completed in Service History on FP 5 but there is no place to add new service.

You are right. I was so annoyed at other major changes that I missed this deletion. This is something else that I always use for all my Fords that is gone now. It was such a convenient place to track all my service history. I can’t believe Ford deleted it without warning or a chance to save my data before it disappeared!

Mine has been glitchy as ever recently.
-Can't edit departure times
-Doesn't know what day it is.
-"vehicle" screen isn't up to date
*range isn't accurate

That's lack of knowledge not error. They wouldn't know what features were there before. The point is, a user pushing on a link to public charging and getting no response is not user error it is app error. I don't think that people who can't find the original trip planning in the new version are committing user error, do you? It's just not there.

Claiming you can’t view tire pressure? Yeah that’s user error.

You can check by logging into your Ford account with a browser. And you can still make new self-service entries there too. (although no receipt upload possible)

So if I'm not mistaken, the V5 ui is just not "connected" to the feature.

I see it in Vehicle > Settings > Software Updates > Update Details.

Doesn't exist on my phone. Maybe it will appear after the first OTA update after installing FordPass 5.0.

Ah, that is true. Thanks for reminding me. I rely so much on the Ford Pass app that I completely forgot that I can access my info on the internet.

What happened to the odometer reading on the main page? Why was this removed!? I use this every single time I drive the car, as a way of recording mileage for business.

The new app looks nice, but other than changing the 'press and hold' to a simple button, I'm not sure how this is better?

In addition to the removal of the odometer from the main page, my understanding is that other features have been removed:
- send trips to the car
- have to use a 'locations' button to see vehicle location. Sometimes this doesn't work, and before it was also just listed with the odometer.

Up until last week, the app was in beta... the option to go back to the previous version was available (which I always did). Granted, many of the problems from when it first came out in beta have been resolved, but I wish I could still go back. I cannot even find a way to provide feedback.

The ford pass has an V5 and really modern and smooth. Lot of promise.

I am glad they replaced the % charge history to kWh; makes my spreadsheet entries easier.

I miss the vehicle mileage (miles or km). Does anybody else miss that? Would you like to see mileage returned to the vehicle screen?
