I am glad they replaced the % charge history to kWh; makes my spreadsheet entries easier.

I miss the vehicle mileage (miles or km). Does anybody else miss that? Would you like to see mileage returned to the vehicle screen?
Tap Service then Vehicle Health.

Yes I believe that their developers are broken and they only built what they could because they're so limited on their skill set am going to post a bunch of files here that may help people with one thing that was driving bananas but first I'd like to state that when you have that new app it gets pushed automatically if you're on an iPhone unfortunately you still have to delete the app and reinstall it and once you do you lose all the features you set up in your car and you have to redo them all the tech person told me to do this without telling me that would happen not that big deal but just be advised they remove several features from the app because of performance issues I'm sure infrastructure cause and other things are probably apart to simplify certain things and they are stating that people didn't care about a start button or anything like that but here's where we go from here here are some screenshots and I wanted to highlight some things with the plug and play thing you now look at all of that information no longer in the FordPass app you look at it in the service part of their website which you can access through the Ford app here are some screenshots of what to expect when you're trying to plug in charge after you reset up your as a key. Please note that Ford will be sundown in the old app very soon I think within a matter of a month or so they'll be sundowning that older app and it will not work at all for anyone

I just skimmed though all the post on this thread, and I didn't see anyone address this:

Did we lose the ability to see the details of the latest OTA update in FordPass 5.0? I can't find it anywhere and I've looked all over. And while on the topic, Ford why can't you just give us a log to see the history and details of all OTA updates?
It seems like the update disappears from the app after a certain amount of time has passed. I noticed the same behavior in v4 for what it’s worth.

That’s a lot of words without punctuation

Is it only available in the United States? I am in Greece and can not seem to find any updates.

That's what I have on my FP 5.0, no charger to 100%

Similarly, in Greece. I have version 5.0, but it looks identical to the old one. I am sick of Ford and how they leave everyone except the United States and possibly Canada behind in every single action, especially with the OTAs.
As much as I adore my pony, it is no surprise that Tesla, at least in Greece, is at the top of the EV rankings. Hey Ford, the money I paid for my car was the same, if not more, than what people in the United States paid. If I had gotten the car for free, I would not have had any demands. Now, I have...

There's conversations in the earlier parts of the forum. You have the 5.0.0 application but not the FordPass 5 experience yet. The experience simply hasn't been rolled out to all countries at this time, likely due to compliance needs for local laws.

Then Ford - which has an entire team dedicated to the FordPass app - should provide more/better - or at least the same - information than what one single programmer working at this on his spare time can - no?
No. A single programmer in his/her spare time doesn't have to worry about the security of Ford's systems and could easily open up your vehicle or their system to unauthorized access. A single programmer doesn't have to make sure that sending a command to one feature doesn't accidentally cause a problem in another.

For outside programmers to be able to reliably put together code to access your vehicle or your account, it requires the use of an approved API that focuses first on IT security and vehicle reliability.

If my memory serves me correctly, I'm pretty sure this option is still there. Although -- I can't say this is a common feature in any other OEM application (if any). You typically only want to do this when preparing for a roadtrip.

It seems like the update disappears from the app after a certain amount of time has passed. I noticed the same behavior in v4 for what it’s worth.
This is the same behavior as the FordPass 4.x experience. There is a TTL (potentially 90 days or so?) on how long the OTA information is available.

It's always been a bit fidgety in nature but will 100% be available for recent and ongoing OTA updates.

Even more than just this, there's an entire systematic and scaled approach in place. This is why people joke that small teams/developers can accomplish very specific desired changes "faster" than large teams and a group of engineers. A single individual can do as they please with their own decisions in a very decisive manner. Their focus will be extraordinarily small and limited, and it's unlikely to take repercussions of systematic limitations into consideration.

It's important to note that Ford engineers watch these threads and are 100% aware of features people are asking for. Without being able to present a transparent roadmap with all of the parts moving, it's difficult to communicate why these types of items haven't happened yet but rest assured -- it's more about timing and coordination than anything else. There's many many moving parts at play here.

If you do decide to use a 3rd party for these things, there's an extraordinary amount of risk you're giving up in terms of security or even car reliability. You may not be aware of this, but it's there.

Yes I believe that their developers are broken and they only built what they could because they're so limited on their skill

This is dramatically misspoken and incorrect. There's a level of understanding that comes when you've worked as an engineer for a large scaled platform with millions of lines of code, multi-year roadmaps, inherited tech debt from 10+ years prior, in a systematic company that has cars that have functioned since 1908 and an extremely large variety of hardware + vehicles.

Ford has done an absolute incredible job with their talent and engineers at turning a company with ~200,000 employees from a pure car company into a hybrid technology driven company. If you happened to have knowledge in this space and were able to see below the hood, the technological difference is that of a non-tech company starting to become a tech company. It's very very impressive given the short time frame and what was inherited.

There will always be disgruntled individuals when features are removed, but saying "their developers are broken" is absurd.
