If my memory serves me correctly, I'm pretty sure this option is still there. Although -- I can't say this is a common feature in any other OEM application (if any). You typically only want to do this when preparing for a roadtrip.

This is the same behavior as the FordPass 4.x experience. There is a TTL (potentially 90 days or so?) on how long the OTA information is available.

It's always been a bit fidgety in nature but will 100% be available for recent and ongoing OTA updates.
yeah, i was using it for trips, and it was nice to have. In fordpass 4x there was a button, and it was charging to 100% once. Now I have only slider, that I can move to 100% and it works, but then you need to move it back after trip or after charge, which is not convenient as before.

This is dramatically misspoken and incorrect. There's a level of understanding that comes when you've worked as an engineer for a large scaled platform with millions of lines of code, multi-year roadmaps, inherited tech debt from 10+ years prior, in a systematic company that has cars that have functioned since 1908 and an extremely large variety of hardware + vehicles.

Ford has done an absolute incredible job with their talent and engineers at turning a company with ~200,000 employees from a pure car company into a hybrid technology driven company. If you happened to have knowledge in this space and were able to see below the hood, the technological difference is that of a non-tech company starting to become a tech company. It's very very impressive given the short time frame and what was inherited.

There will always be disgruntled individuals when features are removed, but saying "their developers are broken" is absurd.
Agreed, I also have a Bolt and am on that forum, lots of discussion on GM, Blazer EV, Equinox EV, those owners have zero faith in GM and their software teams. They all acknowledge and wish GM was making the effort Ford is around this. I am almost 2.5 years with my Mach-e and the number of new features and updates I have taken is impressive for a very old company.

Devs are always an easy target. If it wasn’t software people would just pick someone else to call idiots the second things don’t work how they want.

There is never going to be a shortage of individuals that feel they know better about, everything. And they personally could have done everything better.

No. A single programmer in his/her spare time doesn't have to worry about the security of Ford's systems and could easily open up your vehicle or their system to unauthorized access. A single programmer doesn't have to make sure that sending a command to one feature doesn't accidentally cause a problem in another.

For outside programmers to be able to reliably put together code to access your vehicle or your account, it requires the use of an approved API that focuses first on IT security and vehicle reliability.
Mark, I'm clueless when it comes to programming. But, even if what you say is correct, I still don't understand why Ford does not show obvious information (that has been requested countless times), like LVB SOC, tire pressure, etc. on the new 5.0 home screen - instead of a big picture of my car (useless) and lots of blank space? You even have to scroll down to see "location" and "settings". Just seems like a poor UI. But I still love my car :^)

That doesn’t seem right. Settings and location are at the bottom of the screen at standard resolution on my iPhone. No scrolling required.

Mine looks somewhat like the pic posted right above your post.

Like I said, it doesn’t seem quite right. I’m certainly not disputing that people are having to scroll though.

I'm Android and have to scroll.
But scrolling is as ordinary as can be in my daily life.

I'm sitting at my office desk in the "data-closet" and have 5 monitors positioned to be viewed from my chair. 360°

Not counting a couple of snatch&run laptops and my corporate phone.

Probably explains a higher threshold for pain. :)

Regarding the missing “Charge to 100%” button, it is not in the app any more that I can find. There is a state-driven button marked “Stop” (if the car is plugged in and charging) or “Start” (if the car is plugged in and not charging). I agree that this should only be used to prepare for a road trip, but I do not want to have to wake up at 2:00am to restart my charge after it’s finished charging to my set ceiling if my departure time is 4:00am. It is much more convenient to set and forget while the car is charging for that one session. ??

Regarding the OTA history, my 5.0 app does not display any history. I still have 4.x on my iPad and it displays (incorrectly) my last OTA as being on April 5. My last OTA happened last week when my car installed OTA package 6.14. So, neither is correct with regard to my most recent OTA. ?‍♂?

Retired. I'd say it was a mid life crisis, but not many people live to 140.

Not having any luck here. When in focus the image flashes occasionally as if the application is trying to hook the car, but it never works.

Everything you can think of, I've already tried. Yes, I've restarted. Yes, I've reinstalled. Yes, whatever you're about to say. :)

I can only start HVAC from the Watch.

Still can't figure out how to watch how the car's charging while it's working.

I was occasionally annoyed at having to hold down a button with the old application, but at least everything worked.

Don't understand how it could be this bad.
